I'm really hesitant to post this because I don't want to disrupt the Voracity brotherhood here, but are you sure your GPS is giving you reliable numbers? Your 69 and 71mph runs are almost exactly 10mph faster than the x455 ran on my stock boat. The x455 ran 67.8mph in my Voracity with the Leopard 4092 motor upgrade. I do agree that the boat will be very loose to run high speeds with the stock electrics and you'll probably need a little bit of light wind/small chop. I'm really not trying to start anything but this one has me scratching my head. 10mph is a very big difference in speed.Originally posted by rcboone2000 View PostLast weekend I got 111.7 kph 69.4 mph today I got 114.3kph 71.023.I have a picture of the gps at the 111.7 but I left my phone at home so no picture of the 114.3 but a friend and my son saw it my boat is all stock but the prop and flex shaft I'm running a x 455 and the boat very very loose.I don't know how to attach the picture

I haven't checked my gps for a while there was a chop today I'm running the boat so loose that I flipped it twice just ting to turn it my ride plates are 3/16 in. up from the bottom of the boat and the strut is a little more that 3/16 in

I agree and was thinking the same thing.Originally posted by arrover View PostI'm really hesitant to post this because I don't want to disrupt the Voracity brotherhood here, but are you sure your GPS is giving you reliable numbers? I also used fine steel wool to scuff bottom of boat and used some wax we used when we ran flat bottom drag boats the stuff always helped on the big boats

I got the boat back together with a new OSE HD flex and I CAed the nosecone into the strut. I also SLIGHTLY bent the stuffing tube up so the flex isn't at such an angle entering the strut. There were rubbing marks on the inside of the nose cone so I believe the flex was rubbing and would basically unscrew the nose cone. Anyway, the nose cone stayed on during my runs this morning which is much longer than when I only Loctited it. I ran a Prather 230 to 59.5mph on 6S and 37.7 on 4S. Pretty similar to the x648 which makes sense since they are almost identical. I thought it might be slightly faster because the tongue looked a little smaller. Still having a blast with this boat!

Yesterday I tried a Octura Y547. I couldn't really find much information about the prop other than they are supposed to have 10% more lift than an X4 prop. Anyway, the speeds weren't much different than a couple of props I've already tried. 59.2mph on 6S and 38.1mph on 4S. (still running the Leopard 4092 1730kv and Seaking 180a ESC)

I repaired mine yesterday. I feel jealous you guys are having all this fun without me. I also ordered a tp motor and I have a different 150a esc (same one I started with) to run. I also added some weight to the tip and some in the very bottom of the boat.
The epoxy is flush and I have decals to go over it.

And there's the epoxy my I added in the bottom with a layer of carbon to dress it up.

That's good news! I'm glad you decided to repair it and play with us some more. That carbon looks good.
This evening I ran an Octura x450 three blade. Fast prop. 67.0mph on 6S and 48.2mph on 4S. The 6S run was on very calm water so there is probably a little more speed in this prop. Pretty high temps. 6S temps below after three back and forth speed runs with temp/speed check in between.
Motor- 115
ESC - 110
ESC wire capacitors - 160
Motor connectors - 165
Battiers - 95,100

Thanks! The x455 ran something like 67.5mph but with some semi-concerning chine-walking. This x450/3 handles much better. First three blade I've ever run.Originally posted by kfxguy View PostAwesome! That's close to what my kbb34 ran on 6s!

I've got some new props on the way. The 4060 tp got here yesterday and I've got a new esc for it. I've got to cut some decals now to hide the damage and finish up with the hatch bolt install. I'll post some pics as I make more progress. New builds have been soaking up my time lately32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

I switched my Seaking 180A ESC out for a Turnigy 180A with the bigger capacitor bank. Ran it this morning and the cap bank is MUCH cooler. I'm hoping it will help speeds also.

Getting so close... I ran an ABC 2114-10-50 today to 69.1mph. 45.8 on 4S. I've had this unfinished prop for a while but forgot about it after I decided it would be to much for the stock ESC. Even with the new Turnigy 180a ESC, the boat was still hitting the 3.2v low voltage cut off so I turned it off for now. The new ESCs cap pack stays so much cooler than the Seaking's two capacitor pack. The prop handled nice. No chine walking but the water had some wind on which I think helps the chine walking. Like the other ABCs I've tried, there was lots of prop slip out of the hole.

Joined the 70mph club this morning. Just barely! 70.0mph on 6S and 43.3 on 4s with a three blade ABC 2014-10-50/3. The water was flat so I think it could run faster. Temps were warm but not out of hand. It seems like the ABC props always run hotter than similar pitch/diameter Octuras. Even with three blades there is a lot of prop slip getting onto plane. On 4S it seemed like I needed to give it 2/3-3/4 throttle before the prop hooked up. The boat ran level though. No chine walking.
