My biggest concern is will this heavy hull get on plane? I should have built up the recovery pads more to ressemble the UL-1. I raised and widened the sponson ride pads to help. Afterplane is longer than standard Whiplash 20 so maybe no blow overs.Last edited by detox; 02-03-2012, 10:06 AM.

Were you able to move the CG up to 1" behind the sponsons from the 3" you were at? If not be careful it will want to fly!

I lubed my .187 cable and teflon tube using transmission fluid mixed with Grimracer grease. Drive train sounds pretty quiet after mixing in the transmission fluid.

It works pretty good, If you can cast far enough to the boat.
The bobber and tennis ball get a little heavy for the line I am using,
So when I need to cast far I have to do it nicely or watch my ball and boat float around,
I have a some spare stuff now if that happen.lol

Hi,
Do you have a fishing pole and a tennis ball ?
That is one of things I use and I try to keep the boat close to shore at high speeds,
When testing new stuff.

Before glueing down top sheeting over sponsons I figured my COG should be roughly 3" behind back edge of sponsons. Then I attached all hardware(esc, lipos, rudder, turnfin, etc). I then started adding weight to sponsons until it balanced out close to where I figured (3").Originally posted by jujux1 View PostNice job and good weight
How do you define the weight you add in each sponson ?
Adding more weight in the left sponson will help prevent left sponson from lifting while accellerating.Last edited by detox; 01-19-2012, 12:47 PM.

I will be using teflon liner with .187 cable. Teflon rides inside 9/32 brass tubing then reduced and soldered to 1/4 brass tube at strut. Octura coupler is fitted, but I will be using smaller Kintec coupler.Last edited by detox; 01-11-2012, 07:57 PM.
