Ok, just to inform the ones who want to know about the motor issue,
it is in the process of being resolved,
Mr Vaccaro contacted Mr Neu about the matter and got a response a few minutes later.

The cogging can differ somewhat depending on the stator used in production. The motor with the brown wire has a stator from a earlier batch of stators with a little different shape--which is may lead to the cogging difference. Cogging or the lack of does not mean anything. The wires packing is also depends on the vendor and the method of wire forming used. Both motors should have similar winding resistance. If the customer is still concerned we can swap the motor with the brown wire for one with a newer type stator.

So you can see that when buying expensive motors, you get the appropriated handling in matters like this. Of course on offshore electrics, you would get the same treatment with a no name motor, but that's quite rare everywhere else :)
I send a last picture to Steven as to determine the replacement motor I will get. And am sure the issue is already resolved.
I would like to say again, that there is nothing wrong with the motor. I have not tested them as to be able to say if they differ in performance, Mr Neu confirms that they do not.
But one last note I will post, when you buy neu motors, for a double power system, be sure you buy from the same batch, as it has been tested on European forums, the kv slightly differs from one batch to another. In fact, you can call Neu with your motor Number, and get your exact Kv.

BEC not reliable enough?

I personally wouldn't trust a bec with rc boat. have burned more than one esc using them. Never had an accident with the packs.
and for god sake, we just have 1 servo to handle plus the rx, it's not like running helli's, I charge my packs once a month.

Himalaya, what size tubing are you using for the water pickup tubes? The motor cooling jackets I have look like the nipple is a 4mm outside diameter. Did you use 4mm OD brass tube or bigger?

I finally got the CF from Hobby King. I was really surprised as it looks of really good quality. Price is pretty good also.

Also got the S9551 servo and also a Flight power 1600mah Lipo RX pack.

I used the K&S tubing from Steven, it's a 3/16" OD brass tube, inside diameter is 4mm. Now the pickups have been epoxyed in place and it looks a bit overkill, I believe the 5/32(4mm) OD tubing would be a better fit having suficient water flow.

BTW, why do you use an RX pack? BEC not reliable enough? Isn't that painful to always remind yourself to charge diff size packs?

Elvish, I know what you mean on the NEU motors. Both my 1527 look the same but the motor leads are not all color coded. I guess I am supposed to guess at which colors are black vs blue. Each motor has two black and one orange lead. Guess it doesnt really matter. I love your modeling that you are doing on the motor mounts. I think I will attemp something similar.

Malibu, I like the HPR but I love the Cobra more, that car is beautiful! since you have a garage full of toys, and dont have room to paint ship me the cobra I will be glad to keep over spray off of it!

perhaps your need is different, as I said, I want them for saw purposes.
the Germans all use similar kv on 6 cells.
And for those who will tell me that lehners have 2 poles, the kv is run similar on pletts too, and pletts have 6 to 8 poles

My boat will only ever be used for saw really... but heh when i get more cash im scrapping Neu's and will get Plett's.

ok, who is everyone? did Steve Neu say that his motors don't support 6s?
from my calculation, 1860 X 3.6 X 6 = 40176 kv which is a limit for saw
it's a 4 pole motor, which would have a better acceleration than the lehners, and less top rpm.
