Don't mean to thread jack, but I'd like to show a couple pics of my renegade. One of my strut depth/angle, and my "accident". I was testing my new battery in a small river tributary. It has just got done raining a substantial amount and there was a UFO (unidentified floating object) I didn't see. Off came the turn fin!! The boat planes instantly, however, the top speed is still not impressive. I may have the strut too deep, not sure. Running y531, 3s 23c 1450mah lipo, phoenix25 esc. It seems to actually speed up a tad mid turn.

More than likely one is an enamel and other is a lacquer - the 2 do not get along with each other.

Sorry to hear about that Danny...I've never used Krylon Fusion before...only Automotive Krylon sprayed over Automotive Krylon. Hmmm...it is made for plastics so it must have a different bonding agent that actually sets into the plastic, which the regular Krylon does not mate with very well.

Hopefully you can get it cleaned up ok, then try again with the regular Krylon...

Yellow krylon doesn't sit well when sprayed over with krylon "fusion" blue. I knew better, but Fusion was the only blue I had.
Gotta strip the blue and try again. I hope I don't have to strip the yellow too.

I found a can of krylon white primer in the garage. I peeled off all the tape and primered the hull. I can't post a pic because the wife is on the desktop. I will post it later.

Ryan, try using spray Kilz first...then sand lightly and then use Krylon primer (2 coats...sanding in between coats) then Krylon spray paint. That combo works really well for me, and I have yet to see any peeling from hatch tape or anywhere else for that matter...

Are you gonna prime first, or no? Reason i ask is that I just sanded the heck out of mine to paint. Taped it up, primed a sponson, annnnnd the epoxy in a few spots started breaking up. Guess automotive primer wasn't a good choice on my part. Decided to sand off the prime. I think i'll stick with the wood look for now. Did you pick your motor for the stretch yet? If you go with a higher kv are you gonna go with a bigger esc or no? Good luck!!

AHHH. True. I bought mine pre-built. I got lucky and she was done right. It's not painted. I kinda like the wood look but, i'm already trying to figure a paint scheme out. Have you had any issue removing the self tapping screws and replacing them?

She is in need of a decision (paint scheme) She's easier to paint now than to tape her off later.
