Shouldn't have to worry about the hatch sinking if it comes off.

Yepper, dual purpose - flotation and it strengthens the lid. I ordered hatch locks for it but I think they are too big, have to get smaller ones or go another way. Definitely want to put a fasteners on the hatch.

I think its more like 1/6th, kinda proud of it. Made it from the ground up by purchasing all the aluminum parts for an Emaxx, then i built a frame to stretch the Wheelbase to 16". It has a 4074 on 6s and 8.5" tall Jumbo kongs..............it's pretty cool

            couple of pics for you:

I'd say 1/8... I have an E Maxx and E revo Both are 1/10th and seem more like 1/8 to me, that always puzzled alot of truck guys. it looks like you made it even bigger ! I dig it, I'm working on putting steering on each end of an E maxx I have and hooking it up to a third channel for rear steer... if I ever get to it.

The wheelbase is 16" compared to 13.2" for the 3905 and the brushless version............i needed some more wheelbase to spread out the tires a bit and to be able to use all the 1/6 bodies i have..............it may be 1/6 then if these bodies fit.

Hey Kong,I notice you have foam liner in your boats.I was brainstorming in traffic and was wondering about any sound deadening by doing this.I was thinking of sheet foam but thought it might kill the vibration noise a bit.Perhaps around the motor area and over the hatch(of course foaming the hatch works).

honestly I generally put foam (pool noodle lots of times) everywhere I can find the space. I've sank a few boats and it aint no fun.

So no noise suppresion that you have noticed?I would think it would do some.I may have to try this and do a test. One of the parks/lake I used to run at now has highrises around it and aparently noise complaints.Just thinking this may help.

well back to it, I'm finishing this project up soon, I have two new boats I want to start.
I got the hatch done for the most part. I almost got myself in trouble by not taping the hatch down in place while the foam was curing. It warped up slightly but is not a problem. It did not do this last time, but there was not as much volume of foam that had to dry.

                            100_8143.jpg

I made some removable battery trays out of lexan. They are going to work out nicely.

                            100_8142.jpg100_8140.jpg

I found some nice dense foam blocks I'm going to shape into a bulkhead for it front of the hatch opening, add some floatation and hatch bolts and WAH LAH !!!

Well I got her wet for the first time.

I hope I can find more speed. It has new packs and I expect it to take a few more runs before I start seeing full power. Also considering 10 or 11s
