I think a 03 will smoke Howards boat in first gear...lol.......My favorite is to roll threw freeway on ramps in second and giver a hand full of throttle as the front end climbs high I back out of it and before it hits the pavement I get back into it and then let off around 11k and seter back down nice and easey .....then look down and am doing a buck-05....

You wont get 90% efficiency at the load and RPM you are going for. My guess would be at most, 60%. At that high of RPM and load, it wont pull 120A either. The amp rating on the motor is what it is rated to handle, not what it draws. For example, my castle 1520-1y (1600kv) with a prather s225 prop (one size smaller than yours), on only 6s pulled 209A. That is also a 120A rated motor. My guess is you will be closer to 300A, and less than 33.3v (they will drop significantly when current rises that high), and somewhere between 40-60 efficiency%. That's just a guess, but I bet its closer than your estimate.

It doesnt mean you won't be pulling serious wattage, I think you will be pulling a lot more than you estimate even.

To the guy that said it will pull 90A...
Keep running boats. You'll figure it out. Unless the prop comes off he's not going to be anywhere near 90A.

Good luck Howard. I can't wait to see the video.

She still had a little poke but the red line is at 11,500 so I call her as fast as the new ones cause they are all 185 mph bike, some just get there faster

Howard has made it clear that he wants 90mph, and if he loses his boat trying.. so be it. I have no problem with that.
I dont think "newbies" are the only ones who think that is the way to go, alot of people, myself included dont really give a *!***!***!***!** if the setup smokes out after a while, the whole intention was to push the limits, so to get upset over pushing them would be pointless. I myself enjoy the speed more than anything, look at it like Golf, the whole point is to try and beat your best score, well rc boating for me is all about trying to beat my highest MPH. I have just started with rc boats a few months ago, but thats not the point, its my mentailty and its not gonna change anytime soon.

i think Howard has a mentality like mine, and i will be keeping an eye on this topic for your video Howard, the genesis is badass, and i might just have to compy one of your builds here pretty quick!!!

I want to go fast, crazy fast thats why i bought the bike. If the makers of the motor said i can run 9s and thats what I'm going to do. If i want to slow it down i can turn down the controller but i can turn it back up if i need it. Turn up the kv and unlock the hp. People need to just wish the best and give good advise.
What do you mean "turn down the controller"?
When you say the makers of this motor, who did you speak to?

I just checked the weather for the weekend and it look like the winds are going to be 10 to 15 mph. My zip is 33025 if someone finds out something different.
