Thats a 66,000 rpm prop in a 27'' or soo rigger ! Thats so freekin crazy dude..............................Oh and I have anouther speed tip if you need one, just let me know.......Good luck !

I run some odd setups but that is well out there.
A 6t 540xl motor can, but should not often, take 5S......not with a 180A speedie and deffo not with a 640/3
At 6S it is really only a 49krpm setup so not insane rpm (getting there) for a saw setup but with the prop and esc it will smell beautiful........take pics if you can be there.

Just get a video. 2 Howard's with a video. I'm open to any new tips. Well lets not make this thread to big or some people might get jealous.

This the best thread ever. I'm going to build a boat that goes 120 mph just to see the comments.

Glad you found this hobby Ray , I have been in 100's of crashes, mostly minnor when it comes to injuries, I have busted a collar bone , cracked a shoulder blade , fractured a vertibrae in my neck and a few other minors threw my motorcycle career of racing n riding, now its all for fun..Have a dirt bike and street bike siting in the garage and FE hobbie is really great in comparison and can be allmost as expensive.........

ok back on topic. cant wait to see this cat do 90, and see you brothers' boil the lake!!
My r1 is a 06 with a power commander, so it has not limits on rev or top speed. You are right this bike will do 99 in 1st gear. Its geared for 199 but will never hit that. The engine don't have the power to push that gear. Stock they will go about 180. My top speed is 190.

He may just mean throttle and the makers meaning Leopard most likely. The specs say you can run 9S and so he does. Trading high current for high voltage. Lots of fun!!!

    Do it Howard!!

You wont get 90% efficiency at the load and RPM you are going for. My guess would be at most, 60%. At that high of RPM and load, it wont pull 120A either. The amp rating on the motor is what it is rated to handle, not what it draws. For example, my castle 1520-1y (1600kv) with a prather s225 prop (one size smaller than yours), on only 6s pulled 209A. That is also a 120A rated motor. My guess is you will be closer to 300A, and less than 33.3v (they will drop significantly when current rises that high), and somewhere between 40-60 efficiency%. That's just a guess, but I bet its closer than your estimate.

It doesnt mean you won't be pulling serious wattage, I think you will be pulling a lot more than you estimate even.

To the guy that said it will pull 90A...
Keep running boats. You'll figure it out. Unless the prop comes off he's not going to be anywhere near 90A.

Good luck Howard. I can't wait to see the video.

One last piece of advice bro , give your system a good pre cooling by tying in a weed sprayer to your rudder pickup line and pump some ice water threw it, it will chill everything down to the low 40's before you run 300 amps threw your esc , electricity flows a-lot better when things are cold (accept batts). This is what I did at the L.A. SAWS with my quad drive powered with 4 casle 1y's on 6s with only 2500mah per motor, I didn't have enouph juice to even run the motors and ended up distroying my lipo's, I can only imagine the kind of voltage spikes that were hiting my esc, they shold have burned....lol....my best pass was 79mph,,,,I should have been in the upper 80's, low 90's........

Yeah Keith his load placed on the motor by the prop is what will dictate his amp draw .Correct? so he can dictate his ouput like that ? So when u go past its load limit or max draw thats heat time right? Plus the true amp ability is the locked rotor amp draw right ?It would surely fry

but i can certainly say those estimates were theory which is waiting to be proven wrong speaking of the earlier ones mentioned not yours
