Today water was perfect (slight ripple on surface). Not using H-10 prop I hit 64.7 mph.

The S-15 is a very different prop. It takes a whole bunch of cutting to make it work on a spec boat.

I bet the tail end came up as well.
Now bend some pitch into that h-10.

Today I hit 57.0 mph using plain Jane H-10. Low sixties is not far off.

i thought 57-60 sounded fast on a 42mm prop. try starting with the prop/ on my rigger with that motor i am running a 1450 that is barley cut down. my temps still come in around 110 degrees with cheap batteries (turnigy 3600's 30c).

I think it's VERY funny that we are complaining these days about "ONLY" going 53.3mph with a power system that costs under $150.00 and comes stock in a RTR boat...
Especially, when we first started proposing the idea of setting up classes based on this power system, people balked loudly...

WOW ! Today I finally ran this rigger. I am guessing speeds to be 57-60 mph using the custom GR 42 x 66L prop. Hulls seems to be riding heavy on the stern (COG is set back too far). I had to adjust strut all the way down touching ride pad with some negetive angle (maybe more negetive is needed). I may add a little more weight to the front to see if that helps loosen up stern. Also need to try more props. This rigger handles well and turns on a dime.
Here is picture of final strut adjustment.Attached Files

To install the wider Turnigy 4000mah lipo (50mm wide). First I have to remove ESC , install battery, then slip ESC back in.Attached Files

UL-1 turnfin is installed. My Raptor rigger weighs slightly under 4 lbs ready to run using 3600mah lipo. The Turnigy 4000mah lipo will add 81 grams or 2.9 ozs more weight.Last edited by detox; 03-17-2010, 06:37 AM.

I did not like the way my UL-1 water jacket fit so I will be using the aluminum coil for now. These 3600mah lipos fit verygood. My Turnigy 4000mah lipo requires a little more manuvering. ESC wires are shortened and soldered to motor wires.
DO NOT SHORTEN MOTOR WIRES ! I once shortened the motor leads on SV27 motor and played hell trying to resolder the burnished wires. I had to sand off burnished coating to resolder.Attached FilesLast edited by detox; 03-18-2010, 02:10 AM.
