Your absolutely correct.....when you set it up wrong its a recipe for disaster................POOF!
An 11XL when setup with a logical prop choice will not pull more than 100a constant..........more like 50-60.............peak out of the hole amps will spike up there pretty good.

yep thats rite,just have to take into account new guys not having correct setup IE,over propped,running wet,excessive run time

how do i set it up to not run wet, like it was stated prevously? Put boat on flat surface then the make strut straight?

when the boat is running at speed it should only have the last few inches of sponsons touching the water,running wet causes the motor to draw more amps causing motor/esc/batts to get to hot.
strut adjustment and c.o.g are used to get the rite hull attitude.

What should I set for battery and Cell count? (6s but isnt mine 21v?)
5 cells LiPo battery (Cutoff Voltage 15.0V)
6 cells LiPo battery Cutoff Voltage 18.0V)
7 cells LiPo battery (Cutoff Voltage 21.0V)

Do I set Braking to Soft, Med, or Hard?
And What about throttle?

Also..
Rotor Rotation, I can leave that at default right?
Timing options?
and PWM Options?

what type of ESC is that..........is it for a Land rig...............fan and all?

Its one of the Jetti Spin copied ESC's available. The one shown is a Sentillon but they are branded with diffierent names by many sellers. That particular model was one version that did not need a Pistix adapter for use with PG radios. Its been modified with a bunch of soldered on leads for things like an Eagle Tree data logger, UBEC and JST connectors for the exterior on/off switch I like to use, and waterproofed with Silicone Conformal Spray just like the ESC manufacturers do. The fan is a 2" 5v high flow version that keeps the ESC chilly. A cheap Chi ESC that has stayed alive now for over 2 years. But my setup doesnt push it hard either.

my point is just because the manufacturer may give a max amp rating doesn't meen it wont pull more amps than quoted.
most brush less motors will produce way more power and draw way more amps than quoted from manufacturers, they may not do it for long but long enough to kill your esc and batteries along with the motor it self

was under the impression that the manufacturer put that as MAX reccomended amp and not what i can actually pull.

Carl,

Get this motor (see link) and it will be more then you need. Plus its from Steve so you have helped out OSE. And it will swing more prop then you can use. Adapt a motor mount and your set. Plus you saved some decent bux. This would be a good 4S motor in your setup.

Acrylic Orange paint

BAD NEWS; I painted my boat orange last night, It looked sickk!!!!
And then my dad walks in my room steps on my boat and now i have a couple huge cracks in the front of my hull. Im glad i painted it early now i have time to fix the cracks and paint it before my parts come (scheduled to come monday!)
