Ruddering... Put the threaded inserts in.

          221.jpg

I had a satin clear on the rudder parts, but because the boat and the other bits are hi-gloss, they didn't look right. So, re-clearcoating all the rudder bits.

Rudder done. The heatshrink hosing idea didn't work out as planned. Gonna hunt the web for wee silicone line.

Where did you get the foam that you've used for the hatch lip from?

              Looks good quality stuff,

My friend Jeff on Amazon. 1/8" or 3mm adheasive neoprene foam. I used the hatch for a template, and ran a new x-acto blade to cut to shape. Put a few drops of soap in a sink of water, peeled the backing off, wet it in the sink, mushed it on with a towel, starting at one edge, and pulling it to reach all the edges while squeegeeing with the towel. When stuck good, I releived the tension with some x-cuts in the middle, then run the knife along the inside of the hatch to trim. Comes out ok. Die-cut exactly would be awesome.

Using a full sheet is an interesting idea. I've just used adhesive neoprene tape and cut contours/seams in the four corners.

Electronics done. I wanted a clean, un-cluttered look. I'm happy.

Deck details done. Rails made from black stainless spokes. Was gonna add heli-hooks, but my hands need rest.

The black spokes were a great idea. What are the faux instillation grommets made from, just painted circles or epoxy build-up?

If you mean around of the handles? If so, it is the epoxy resin (blackend with graphite) that fillets arond the bottom. I add little drips with a pin around them, until the diameters look the same.

Cowl floation. A little cleaner than pool-noodles.

                              Hatches / latches done:

Rather than try to make a wee gasket on the dech-side, it is far easier to put a whole chunk of neoprene, on the hatch under-side.
