Fightercat Daytona 37" Twin Build

Finally got my motor mounts and shims in and was able to get some work done on Daytona this morning. Got motor mounts in and stuffing tubes. Mounted stingers and shims. Got a nice ESC cover from Tiqueman and installed it. It's coming along but I'm still waiting on flex cables and collets as I ordered wrong ones the first time....
Saw you sold your hull Nate,guess I'm on my own....lol

Was back at it today. Got it pretty much done. Installed battery trays,motors and water lines and outlets. Mounted and wired in the T180s. Fitting and building a twin in a small cat proved harder then I thought. My next boat will be a bigger cat. I am now just waiting on the flex cables and collets and it'll be time for first runs. Anxious to see what kind of straight line speed I will get. Here's a few more pics.

Watch out for those kinks in the bend on the drives...Its hard to tell from the pics. How did you bend the drives?

Heated tubes with torch and then dropped in cold water. I have a old flex shaft here and used it to align stuffing tubes. Spins freely inside so hoping they are ok. I'll know for sure when flex cables come this week.

I just bend mine with packed sugar, seems to come out nice since. Never done a heated bend yet.

I finally got my flex cables and collets ordered and received them from OSE today. Got them all cut and installed and all the rest of parts installed. Bench tested and all seems fine. First runs tommo. Question for someone tho,the reverse flex cable does it have to go on one particular side? Thx Jeff

Yes it does. Look at how the motors spin. Then Iook at the direction you'd need to go to unwind the cable. That's the direction you do NOT want to go.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge on this subject all my other boats have been single engines. I'm not following what you mean. How do I know if I have the reverse flex cable in the correct stinger? Thx Jeff

It will be the one that runs reverse from all the other singles you have...

Just to add a little clarification, you will want to make sure you have your props installed on the correct shafts as well.
If you want to spin the props outward on top, which seems to be best for handling and overall performance, you will want your left hand motor set up like a typical mono with the normal shaft and prop. Your right hand motor will be set up to spin the opposite direction with reverse shaft and prop.
Spin it up on the bench and make sure they both blow and you're good to go!
For possibly better straight lines speeds, but a cut in cornering, swap motor directions, props and shafts, and rotate them inward on top and see what happens.

The build looks really great. The layout inside is perfect got the boat and the powder coating a really nice touch. The boat deserves a nice paint job so it looks as good on the outside as it does in. It makes me want to do twins on mine. I look forward to seeing some video of this beast on the water!

Ok got the shafts in correctly and props on. Went with the props spinning outward on top Capnswanny. Thx Fella I put some time and effort into this. Raining here today so will post some vids of first runs tommo. Thx Jeff
