Yea lots of pics Nate. Found a few twin builds on here and other sites but most just show completed processes of the build. This being my first twin build I would like to see pics of how motor mounts are placed,how transom is drilled for stingers etc etc. so try and post all you can. Thx Jeff

Here's what I ordered. Two of these sheet's in the link. This should give me enough to make the mounts, a nice size servo tray, and hopefully a cut out backing support for the motors. Should look nice in red sitting on the black cf inlay. Matching red leo's and red esc wires.

Wish I would have known you needed some of this. I have a couple yards of red cf/kevlar and I probably never use it. I did a red I lay in a Daytona I'm building and the guy bought too much of it. I can make sheets

Thank you man. I'd be happy seeing mine reach 80mph. Thats moving! Im still trying to find a set of stinger's to go with. Yet to find any in stock.
Heres a few more pics of the inlay completely dry. It was a pain getting the cf to lay down around every curvature, and dry resin time set in 20min, so I had about a 10 minutes to get it situated before it started drying.

Spray glue is your friend. It holds the CF in place while to soak your resin through. The resin dissolves the spray glue and it stays nice and tight everywhere. I did a write up on it a few months back.

Another thing.... How are you securing your hatch? Either way you need to put foam in it so you don't lose it.. I also have dome ideas for you for hold down hardware if your interested

So just a chunk of foam inside hatch kfx? I used 1/4" cap socket screws into t-fitting bolts with foam weather stripping on my Popeye. What's the best way to secure hatch on the Daytona? Thx Jeff

What kind of spray glue, 3M type ? Always like to see pics and other ways to secure stuff, like you I really dislike tape....I always use pool noodle type material for floatation, have to watchout with some foams they hold/absorb water....

I really like the two part foam that kintec sells. If you don't cut it, it has a shiny waterproof layer. I use 4-40 thread, 1/4c diameter threaded aluminum spacers to hold the hatch down with aluminum threaded knurled thumb screws. They are $6 shipped for 10 of them anodized black. Foam weatherstripping I get from keith Bradley. I found some nice flat rubber washers at Lowe's that work perfect.

The spray glue is 3m and ill look which one when I get home . Used to dread doing any cf work until I figured out the spray glue trick. I used a different glue before this 3m stuff and it would put a cloudiness in my epoxy..... The 3m doesn't do it. It stays perfectly clear.

Yes I ordered some thumb screws from Fastenal to replace the cap socket screws. I have the Kintec foam. Can you post a pic of the hatch after you applied the flotation? And maybe one of how your hatch locks are on your Daytona. Thx Jeff

I haven't got to the hatch locks on the Daytona but they will be the same as my rivercat. Like this

Off subject here, But I changed the whole setup on my Mean Machine twin, its running duel 36mm motor (5400kv) on 2s and 42mm props, with zero adjustment on maiden, she ran in the low 50's,shooting for 65mph!

Here's how I did the hatch you can't tell but the skinny part divot on for the motor. The bulging part I cut flush as I could then sanded to shape. I made sure it cleared the motor and then some.



Then I spray glued it and stuck the CF cloth on



Then epoxy and let dry. I forgot that I spray glued a large piece on there and then cut it square inside the hatch. Peeled the excess off... Cleaned up over spray with acetone then epoxy coated

Im still waiting for my carbon sheets to arrive, till then, build is dead in the water lol. But heres the location Im going to mount the motors, sorry for the wait.

I got a bunch of the parts in for my Daytona twin build this week. Just have to pick up hull and stingers and few miscellaneous parts from Tiqueman this Sunday. I'm dropping off stingers,rudder & bracket and water outlets to have black gloss powder coated and then can start the build. These are first TP Motors I've bought def like the look of them. They are 3640 1610kv. I'm still trying to find some ESCs but should be soon. Chomping at the bit to start this build....image.jpg

The CF inlay is done. So one step closer to starting build. Tiqueman has started me off in good shape. We shall see how I do on the rest...
