Nate, got my first test run in thursday. Winds were a bit high so never got it totally wound out. Running 6S Neu 1515 2200kv 642 prop GPS'D 78mph. With the winds and boat seemed to be running a bit wet, I am sure on smooth water and a bit of tuning it will break 80mph. I have to say I was really impressed with how well this hull handles, it actually turns really nicely for as narrow it is. Going to attempt more test runs this afternoon and will try to get vids.... I had to go back to the beginning and see who's build thread this is lol. "someone" else seemed to be taking it over lol. Nevertheless, nice work guys. Jlov, you should start your own build thread. If you did, I must've missed it. Because notifications hasn't been working I haven't kept up. Jlov, I like those thumb screws... Might have to get some. Nate, I use e/ super 77 for spray glue. It works wonders. Now that I've learned that trick, makes things much easier to attach cf clutch to. Did my hatch top last night on my mini... Turned out nice.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

Right Kfx might do that. When I just built my Popeye 4-5 people were building one so everyone posted in the build thread. Was going to copy what Nate did because I had never built a twin. This is just the second boat I have built so I was in this thread for guidance more then anything. Think he is also waiting on parts so I was just posting some progress on mine. I sent you a reply to your PM on where to find the t-bolts. Jeff

Hey guys nice builds. I just finished up a Daytona build and ran it the first time the other day. Do your twin setup boats handle strange at low speeds under 20mph or so? My boat will tilt to right or left and steer itself. It handles good a speed, but the under 20mph handling is crazy, to the point I want to sell the boat. I run the packs in the sponsons and my cg is 13.5inches from the transom.
Here is my setup. Twin TP 4050 motors, seaking 180s, 110mm stingers, Savox servo push pull setup, carbon inlay, 5s 4400mah 65c packs, x447's turning in, boat is running very wet do to stingers needing shims. It ran 79mph on a windy day.
I set the boat up with RCboatbitz(flier) 200amp 7s esc's, but one was doa out of the box. That is
another story all together. So my goal is to run 7s with 50mm props and brake 90mph. The boat is solid at speed just cant deal with the low speed handling.
Revolt 30--60mph
Daytona 36--79mph
MG24--59mph

That's the nature of a twin in these hull's. Great speeds but low speed handling is something to be desired. If you click on the "my youtube vids" below and watch a few of my Daytona CF hull's in action, you'll see the same results. Just have to live with it and go fast as there is not much you can do to correct it unless you run lighter packs or smaller motor's. I'm going to build a single as they seem to handle much better at lower speeds and on turns. Wider is better as seen in the Shocker and Fantasm hulls being built on here. More stability and awesome turning ability. Long slender cats like the Daytona just don't handle as well as say a large mono. The twins definitely add allot of weight and pushes the hull down making them run "wet".Originally posted by gr8evo View PostDo your twin setup boats handle strange at low speeds under 20mph or so? Question for you JJ. I have had the stingers laying around as I wait for my shims to come. Did I read somewhere that there is actually a left and right shaft? Meaning one has to go in the left stinger and one in the right. I had taken shafts out of stingers while I had them being powder coated. Thx Jeff

Not with the one's you bought. Either can be used. The shim's will really stabilize it a bit more. After my last video of #068, I added the shim's and she was able to eek out another 9mph so I was doing 50+ comforably. Not to mention how she took off from a dead stop. It always wanted to porpoise from a dead stop, after adding the shim's, take off was just a full pull of the trigger and out of the water she came!

I drilled the holes and mounted stingers with out the shims to see how it looked. The angle was way off. Props were pointing down not straight out from back of boat. What concerns me more is when they were mounted the stingers were not even. One was at a more severe angle then the other. Meaning the lip under transom where stingers mount seems to be at more of an angle on one side then the other. I will see I guess when I get the shims and put them on. I'm going to sit and watch your vids of your twin here shortly. Thx Jeff

Aren't you able to adjust the stinger angle up or down?

Use more than one shim if you have to. Did you also make any adjustment to the stinger itself? There should be a provision to angle it as well.Originally posted by Jlov View PostI drilled the holes and mounted stingers with out the shims to see how it looked. The angle was way off. Yes that was it JJ and Luck. When I put the stingers back together after powder coating was done I didn't tighten the adjustment screws in same place on both stingers. JJ you said you added the shims. So did you do one of your twin builds without the shims at first? Thx Jeff

YES! Both actually! Then in the Fightercat forums it was discussed how the hulls were handling and how we couldn't get the stingers to move more positive(up) so Ben had some shims made up an tested them himself to find that this is what was needed to correct it. Took about 6 month's to come of age but when they did, they sold out fast as everyone needed them!Originally posted by Jlov View PostJJ you said you added the shims.
