The Gas guys I run with (Andy from AC Boats being one of em') arte swearing by Dura lube on the flex's.So I have decided to try it on my rudder control cables as well Livewire.
One more notch up for the batteries and I think that'll do it.And fix the rudder pieces.I hit something good. These rudders do not kick up like they should.Parts request has been sent to HOR. I need new cables/shafts if anyone has any ideas.
Damm,,,, feel bad for ya Shawn!! I know what you mean about the break a way rudder bolt. I have run into that problem before. When I first got a break rudder I used the brass bolt that came with it. Well same thing happened to me. Since then I have never used the supplied brass bolts. I use nylon bolts or just run the main rudder bolt tight enough to keep rudder down but still allowing it to kick. I run in a river all the time and there is always something comming downriver. I even have used some copper wire run through the bolt hole. It's always better to have to nurse a boat in and just push the rudder back up then to see that damage again! Let us know about getting spare parts for that rudder. I have the same in the new fantasim and would like to know if seperate hardware parts are available.
