I picked up some large brass tube and some 1/4 brass to do flooded chamber. Also some carbon weave to overlay everything. I found some gorilla crazy glue with contains rubber for impact resistance for tacking everything in place before laying down resin and cloth. I'm down here in Pittsburg away from home and the lhs here has 4 Hyperion g3 4s 3300mah packs for 94 each. I don't have my boat but the pack laying down measures 1 3/16 tall. I plan on putting them on either side of the motor. Can someone tell me if these will fit? Will they be Able to slide under the deck at all? Thanks

Dana, I think those packs will fit. I can measure tonight to make sure though.

Dana, at the middle of the hull from the bottom of the hull to the bottom of the upper hatch lip is about 1.170" You might be able to fit them since they are 1.187" from what you have told me. Hope this helps!

i recently read a thread from a while back where one member was doing something very similiar with his df. the thread turned into a nightmare, so please, unless you have positive input, dont post =)
So, what more can be said here… i have the hull and a motor… should i go with stinger or strut? does this boat need trim tabs to go 60+? turn fins? thanks
              Hi Dana,

I just saw this thread, great choice of hull on your part. Darin Jordan noted some months back that he thought this hull had exceptional geometry.

IMO it’s a great hull for any application….I’ve seen it run nicely in oval racing events as well as SAWS.

In my case, we set it up for P Mono (4s) class SAWS racing and ended up setting a new NAMBA record of 73.2 MPH with a fast pass of just under 75MPH.

I wish I had a video of the record run but I was too busy focusing on getting a clean pair of passes (the stability of this hull at great speed is amazing to watch). But here's a pic of the boat for what it's worth.

Good luck with the build and I look forward to seeing a video

              Thomas.

Thomas, do you think you can share the setup info? I am sure Dana, myself and others watching would like to know how you got that little hull to hit 75 (WOW!!!)

75mph as a saw boat is very different to 75mph for sport or oval use, just so people don't go thinking they can go and run 75mph with their DF26 on the local pond lol.

ok so i got home today and started messing around. i drilled for the wet well. then some carbon cloth. looked better without cutting out the piece for the Delta force logo proof, but oh well, ill just cover it with velcro. i used a 4 hour finishing resin to lay the cloth, altho i couldnt get the scotch tape off the edges?!? if anyone can clue me in on some tips thad be great. but its done and looks good. i also wrapped the large brass for the wet well with some …
next ill sand the crap outta everything, andglue in stuffing tube along with a nice coat of resin. heres a couple of pics

does anyone have any input on a strut that uses teflon bushings vs. ul1/sv bushing? im looking at some different stuff. i really dont want to use larger hardware than necessary because of limited space. i found some small struts that use these bushings. lmk thanks

Thanks for the info Thomas, I looked at your pics of your boat and can see your running a strut, but it looks like you have simply used a piece of Teflon from the transom to the strut and allowed the flex to S bend out of the transom for height adjustment? Any chance of sharing a pic of info for those of us who will never be lucky enough to see your creation in person? =P

                          Cheers, 6BOOST.

Here are seveal more pics of hardware on the back of a DF26. This is my N2 mono using Hyperformance Products strut and rudder with SM tabs. I run a .078" wire drive on this with a flooded tube.

This set-up went 72 mph on N2 power, but no back up.
