These hulls totally take the speed. We were heat racing in the low mid 50s with these hulls on 2s2p as N2 monos. Only issue is the really rough stuff. You should have no problem running your setup and if you run it 4s1p you will essentially have the same weight as a hott N2 setup (1515 0.5y) running less amps (presumably ... unless you wanna go CrAzY)

As a side note ... the 1515 1Y in the boat would be really great. That's a nice motor in a small boat. Really easy on the gear and you can tune it up to get some great speeds. I have had one in a 24" viper and my 29" Seaducer.

Yes indeed, I see what you mean. I guess I just gotta take some measurements and grab some hardware to start placement. If I can't get 2p to fit nicely I will just get the 2s Hyperion packs. Not sure how many of you have actually seen a Df 26 in person, but it's very slim...

What would you guys suggest for a strut? It's gonna need to be small but handle 3/16 shaft....

Jim, I already have the leopard so, I'm gonna stick with that. I suppose things won't heat up as much seeing that it's a small hull... So maybe 4s1p will be ok. This motor was running my mean machine which is considerably larger hull so things got hot on 4s1p

Here's my old hull. I sold it some time ago.

You can get 4s2p in the hull. It all depends on the rails and the size/capacity of the 4s packs. You can mount the batts in the middle or two the outside. Its tough to get larger capacity packs in this hull. I have seen someone get 25C 3200 PolyRC's 4s2p in there, but two higher capacity 2s packs set in 4s1p might be best. You can also mount them in the middle. I opted not to do that with my DF25. This is a pic of my DF35. However, this setup will fit the 25" hull (I measured it) ... BUT it leaves you little room for adjustment so you better know your CG ahead of time.

This was my hardware setup. All fine design and ETTI. Worked well, but its a pain to adjust when you are trying to get the boat dialed in. Once you do though its gravy :)

Brushless it could but it would have to be centered. Not much room for adjustment.... I really need to first decide where the motor is going and what kinda strut I'm running. Flooded tube or not, still up in the air. Then everything will go around that. On my Titan I put the motor way up front. This time in thinking about putting it closer to the transom....

Dana, I know what you mean, I have the DF 26 setup as a nitro. Powered by a traxxas 2.5 marine with EZ start. It is very cramped! I was thinking about ordering another hull to put in my 4074 2200kv since I have some 4s 5000 skylipos laying around.....I am tuning in! BTW I have the speedmaster 21 strut and the mini rudder on it and it fits fine....a little tight but fits.
                    24 R/C vehicles and still counting...What budget?

yup. awesome boats! I'd go 4s1p with quality cells . 2x2s packs on the sides of the motor. speedmaster mono strut. I made a flooded stuffing box before. Bought large diameter cf tube from HK. Dont remember which size however. Drill the transom to the size of the tube. make a plug for the end of the tube, and glue/ epoxy it in. the plug needs to have a hole in it the size of your brass stuffing tube. the tube gets glued in the plug and is able to float the rest of the lenght of the cf tube allowing for adjustment.seat the cf tube in the transom hole and line up the front end with the motor, and she's good. not too hard. there are other ways to do it, but for me this was easiest.

Rum, I was thinking the same thing, only was gonna use the largest brass I can find. Either way.. Seems easier than building a wooden box

I built it as a sport boat just to run and is reliable. Steve reccommended this hull to me back in 2008 (I think) when I emailed him. I love it! I have had it on the radar at 32mph, its only running 20% nitro. Anyway yeah the the speedmaster fits, i don't have andy trim tabs or turn fins on it at this time because it handles well. I do however have some spin fins I might put on for better left turns. You will have some room for them if needed. I can get you pics this evening. Can't wait to see yours run!
