    Yes I told him he might as well follow your lead and go hv. Im worried he may burn up some caps running 7 s on the t180's .Maybe not. The fets can handle it but who knows about the rest of the esc?

    I cant wait to see you get your hands on a 40 inch hull and twins .Those Leos are really shaking things up here on ose.

    If you have the spacing correct at the strut a wire will actually push its way clear of the bend and lessen the resistance. That is why I use one bend closer to the motor. Also, are you running a thrust bearing at the coupler?

    My corvette has all the bolt ons and is very fast i got to 183 and it was still pulling.

    Back to drive shafts if want to get technical about it. It comes down to torque and hp. The longer the drive shaft the more torque will be lost. As the load increases the clearance between the shaft and the tubing will change. If your shaft has a slightly tight fit it will only get tighter as the load increases. When there is a bend in a shaft it will also cause some power difference. There is more resistance at the bend. I think its good to talk about things like this and let guys look at things from a different direction.

    Has anyone run a 1527 1.5D on 10s? But mike. My motor mount is built and shipped. I will be setting up the new 32 and was wondering what S to go with.

    Nope. Depends on the dyno, but they usually come in around 330 whp on ours. The Z06 would be over 400 whp though. Big difference between crankchaft hp and wheel hp! Manual vs auto makes a slight difference too, as does STD vs SAE HP.

Its much different when using a flex shaft, there are bends and flexing to think about. Take a power drill and put a flex shaft extension and try to break a small bolt loose but now go from 10" to 20". The longer the shaft the more power it will take. With something that has flex its always better to go bigger and its much different then a car. I wish we had a dyno to check small motors. I work with power tools all day so i know what happens with extending a shaft. Maybe its different but i don't think so.

    If I remember corectly, Castle recommended not more than 40K in marine applications while they had this motor for sale.
