OK guys alittle update,, fiberglassed the motor mount it and it didnt look so well to me so i took some flat black model paint and covered over it heres some pics,,stay tunned for more on this build maybe a stuffing box and more tomorrow night!!!!!

I noticed you didn't have water pickup but the make a surface mount pickup that goes on the bottom of the boat and they work great!! I think right here on OSE if I remember correctly.
I have some links on my website you can look around and see if you can find anything for a mini I know the R2 hobbies link has some ok stuff I use their struts on my mini they have two styles. (first off my boat is 16" long not counting the hardware,) a blue one with 2 90d angles or a red one (mine came clear anodized) which I am using it is an 1/8" prop shaft with a bearing!! both run $10.00 bucks USD. any way keep up the great work!!! my link is in my signature.

Hears alittle update!!!!filled around the inlet with epoxy cuz i made the hole to big!!! and did some touchup,, dont look to bad now!!!! Decided not to epoxy the motor mount down and decided to make some brackets to put it in that way the brackets will be epoxied and then i can still remove the complete mount if needed and if i want i can cut slots in the motor mounts sides so i can slide the mount forward or back... PS any advise or comments are welcome, please!!!!!

Well its in there, not pritty but i gess it'll work,,,after some cleaning up and some touchup!!!!

Actually, I re-looked at my solder. The holder says "General purpose" whether thats plumbing solder or not, I could tell you for sure. However, I did get it where the plumbing solder is.

So you just need plumbing solder to solder to brass stuff!!!Wish i had none that ealyer cuz i have throne away some stuff before cuz i couldnt fix it,,,i did the tube last night ill clean it up tonight and post some pics later....

You don't need to. I use 1/8" id brass tubing. Just rough up the outside and slide the 1/8" id water line over it, holds great.

I do the same thing, heat up the brass till it glows and let it air cool to make it soft. Bend it in as tight of a radius as I can before it kinks, and epoxy it through the hull. Sand it down flush, or slightly sticking out in the back, and it works great.

Exactly. I only did that because the pick up tube I had was too large. And never say you "cant". Can you solder 5.5s? then you can solder a nipple into a tube. All I used was a soldering iron, some flux and some plumbing solder. No big deal man. See, you learndeded sumthin again!

Awww i gotcha,,question i have the ose flush mount single pickup that was for my skunk cat,,, thinking of using it cuz getting rid of the skunk plus i cant braze a nipple on the cooling tube like that....

Sorry I slacked.

The one thats out of the boat I replaced as I wanted to get more of a swoop in it and it was leaking. You can see from the pic that shows both in the hull, one seems to turn back more towards the transom than the other. Try and get it like that.

Just make sure as it turns out of the bottom of the hull its as close to the hull perpendicular along the bottom as you can get it.

Thanks Scott i did the hole in the bottom and had a curved peice of tube and put it threw but didnt want to go any farther untill i found out more!!!! Not to forget i just recleared the hull and didnt want to touch it much but tonight it should be ok i think!!!

Ive done several. I will get some pics tonight of it.. but I may forget so remind me. basically take the tubing so that its running against the bottom of the hull and then it bends into the boat. Epoxy it in and then cut the excess off the outside. This in my experiences will give you the most efficient angle of the dangle. Then touch up around the outside w/ a little epoxy or putty and shoot it w/ some paint to finish it off.
