Hey Brian some of us did not give up on you and the Scarab build, just silently watching and waiting to see how yours goes and gathering ideas for our winter builds. Actually I'm waiting to build my bank account back up, and like you said too many projects and not enough time. Don't give up on it now.

Ive got to get a few things this week from the LHS to proceed forward w/ the drive line etc. My goal is to have motors mounted and connected to prop shafts by next weekend.

Jerry, do you want me to post the build on here as you originally mentioned or start a new thread?
This is awesome! Can't wait to see one run. I have been busy with work and the house, so I need to get off my but and get some work done on my boat projects also. Get my next project rolling....

I also want to hit 30mph with my scale 40" scarab before winter. I am at 28 now. Not real fast, but pushing it with a $18 36mm outrunner! That build thread got quite since video showing it planing and running. Heck, even one 3s-2200 - 20c $10 battery pushed it up on plane! I will make the effort this week to get back on track on my boating projects. Need to mail out a hatch....

PS i have clear coated mine but i did add some new stickers you see in the earlier pics but the new numbers i put on the front corners are big and rap over the top and bottom edges of the hull and didnt get to reclear it this weekend cuz was playing with the new used car i got but the decals wont stay down on the top and bottom edges how can i clearum if they wont stay down?????help dude..
hmmmmm Maybe cut them along the edge, then stick the other part back on so there would be a seem. Thats all I can think of for now. Other than maybe getting a smaller decal. Or you cold try peeling it up a bit and put some backing on it so it wont stick to itself, then fold it where it need to and put a crease in it. then remove the backing and try sticking it back on like that.

I was thinking of starting a new thread for it anyhow since its a completely different build. I'll try and start it tonight.

Twas fantastic. Im home now. Got in yesterday. It is BEAUTIFUL up there. We were in the NW corner in Oconee. Even got to see a tornado! We had a bit of crap weather for 2 days but it didnt stop us. We hiked part of the Foothills trail... went to a couple amazing waterfalls deep in the forrest... Stuff you just dont see in flat ol FL.

Oh and I shoulda brought a boat. This is the lake that was behind our cabin

I would mount it right were you have it. I have only one concern right now, what are you going to do for water cooling? You have a beautiful looking boat there right now. If you run a silicone water line up and down through the back of it, I might have to make a road trip and hurt you!

Could you bring the water line in from the stern to limit the loop, or add a bottom pickup to the right sponson. That is what I did on my apparition cat and it looks much better now without the "scale" water line! Also upgraded the rudder to a proper rudder.
