thats wright!!!! I dont have a 430 prop so i found this plastic one and tryed to cut it down what do you guys think,,next to it is my 427 prop,,the blade on it maesures 10mm perblade and 7mm for the middle so i cut the plastic one 12.23mm so i think its close to the 430 size??? Its worth a try i gess!!!

It was strange, i gave full throttle and it took along time to get it up on plane!!! When i had my mini hydro running i ran it on 3s,,4600kv motor,,same esc and same prop,,,,the motor would get super hot but the esc wasnt,,,,so if i go 3s can i still use this esc???? ill order another prop but will be a week before i get it soooo do i need to order a prop and esc???

also you know you have to give full power until on plane, i noticed you didnt hit full rpm till about 30 seconds. only reason it didnt plane

jerry Switch to a 3s lipo and change your prop to an x430 that is what I was using (am) then you will get some serious speed like my boat

Prop up and try it again. I looked and peells runs a x430 on his 16" cat, so a step up might be in order. His KV is lower at 3200, but he is also runnign a 3s. OSE says his setup is good for 35mph.

Again, your setup says 26mph on OSE calculator. Plus if you have a higher slip, that is going to make it worse.

Yours: 27mm and 3s is about 35k rpm loaded and 39 mph indicated.

Yours: 35mm and 2s is 34mph indicated.

No,no good testing stuff,, Nothing was hot at all and the batt was at 8.14 from full charged at 8.40,,,

Well, according to OSE website calculator, they are estimating 25 mph with 25% slippage. I think you have some higher slippage going on there.

Any feedback on the temps or how much power it was pulling or used while running? did it sound like the prop was cavitating easily on acceleration? I noticed it looked like it had a hard time getting up on plane.

If temps and power draw were ok, I would look at starting to go up in prop size. A 427 is a very small prop. You could also look at Peels setups and see what he was running prop wise on his little single. Might be a guidline.

Otherwise just throw a x430 or x431 on it and see what happens!

Or, lower the strut to get more prop in the water and see if that works, but I think you are going to need more prop. A 431 might get you up to 30 mph. do you have an eagle tree?

Hey Brian,,I GOT IT WET,,LOL but anyway it has the little 4000kv motor, Turnigy marine 35a esc, 2s 1800 lipo 20c and the prop is the octura 427!!!!!

hey, at least it got on plane. so, what is the final motor in it. Did you change to a 4000 kv or is it still the 380-2700 turnigy? And what prop, still the 27mm or did you go up?

It looks great just floating in the water! Tell us the specs and we will be able to offer all kinds of back seat driving advice!

Oh, how many cells and what capacity? Oh, also looked like you might have picked up a leaf on the second run.

Hahaha,,yep got it wet today but it was very upsetting,, it was not very fast at all and well only got like 1 or 2 laps,,,it could bairly getup on plane and i could realy tell at slow speeds that it had the water pickup onthe right sponson...Got Chud to do the vid for me but im still trying to get it loaded,but i did take some water shots for proof!!!!Ps it was windy and like 51 degrees!!!
