      Anydm,

Have a good look at the pictures Ozzie posted (transom shot).
The top section of the transom looks sealed.
Looks like the bottom of the hull has no finish on it.

So it was a fair comment ,waer .Thats the best you can come up with. Save your fingers mate and have another beer.

bonewar, thanks for the compliments, dont worry about andy we are always hanging sh*t on each other, just dont mention he lives in broken hill were they made broke back mountain he gets a bit testy as he was heaths stand in for the gay scenes

now the hull comes clear coated and i will leave the flat surfaces alone
but the cut edges need a couple more coats, were it was really bad i have added some epoxy but hopefully i can tape it up and just spray the cut edges with some clear acrylic.

andy is that the one in the blue can ?
will it stick do you know to what ever they used to seal it ?

sweet it should come in under 2kg
i am useing 2s packs, the most i can get my c.o.g back is 29% but thats with a normal servo,i have made it so if i run a low profile servo one of the packs will slide under the servo bringing the c.o.g back further, going to try as it is first to see if it needs to be back or not.
hopeing the scorpion will spin a s215 with out to much amp draw would like to see mid 40s and be reliable

Ozzie it is this stuff, I have found it to be very good. Just wet&dry with 600-800 grit lightly and seems to stick to anything

I would worry about the whole boat, that stuff they use is CRAP, there is areas on my dads boat that have discoloration on the flat surfaces. it don't take that much longer to coat the whole thing. I have been rebuilding this VS1 for a few weeks now.
Trust me its worth the time. oh and that hole located on the transom right in the middle, its not sealed make sure you seal that or else the two pieces of 1/4 that are epoxied together will start to rot FAST.

                        here is how I know.

well after jeepers comments about clearing the whole hull, i went back threw his thread and another one on sealing the vs1.
took the hull out and had a really good look at it.
needles to say i spent the last hour and a half filling in the joins, especially under neath, i used a product called clear coat, basically a 2 part epoxy, very thin takes a long time to set but gets in to any small holes.
i use a small flat screw driver to apply a drop every 1/4 inch in the joints then use my finger and run it along the joint leaving a very small bead of epoxy
comes out very neat.once dry you have to really look to even see it.
i was surprised at they amount of holes and how much epoxy some of them took to fill.
once every thing dries i will give a light sand and clear the whole hull.

                              smart choice!!!!

if the VS1 that I am working on, was mine and not my dads I would have trashed it, I am glad my dad did not waste 150+ on this boat. he got it for $100 complete with the entire O.S 21 nitro set up ( I still have the .21 on my shelf). Aquacrafts quality is........lacking.
I will admit that the boat screams when set up right, that I like!

Don't forget to remove the bullet drive and seal up that hole..........I cant wait to see how your VS1 runs with the bullet drive!

the quality of the sealing is fairly poor, on mine the stumble blocks were not sealed at all and there was open holes in a lot of places were its joined.
i would say the second hand one your dad got was never sealed properly at all.
as for the rest of it iam more than happy with my purchase which with shipping cost me $250 a.u
mine has been put together fairly well every thing fits nice and the hull is true, just the sealing wasn't very good.
its a very nice looking hull, there is no way i could have made anything as good with a wood kit, i think if its sealed from the start there shouldn't be any problems at all.
                                would definitely buy another
