I assume you used the same 1/8 inch plywood as the stock wood ?. Also did you cut out the back of the stock box or did you leave it ?.

yes i used 1/8 ply i got from the hardware store and i did cut the back of the existing box out
i will try and get some finished pics tomorrow

Did you cut thru the top layer of the deck or just build on top of it ?.

i built on top of it, if my wood skills were better and i had the tools i may have cut down into the top layer

Scott what gaskets did you use for your rudder linkage ?.

Thank's what size tubing did you use for the rods to pass thru & to secure the boots ?. Also after you cut out the back of the stock radio box. Did you make another wall or did you just leave it open ?. I cut out the back of the stock box. But i cant decide if i should leave it open or put another wall up, farther inside the box. Also what kind of space is there between the top of your servo tray & the top of the stock box ?. It's looks to be about 1/8 of a inch .

i used 1/4 tube, the way i set mine up is if i need to move outboard up and down the steering rods stay in the same place and the ball link just moves up and down the bolt.
i didn't put another wall in left it straight threw makes it better for me to get batteries in and out and run rx extension leads.
servo tray hieght is tricky you want the lower leg mounted first so you get the rite position.
in setting mine up the centre of my prop is around 4mm up from sponson bottom

scott what size servo horn are you using in you vs1 ?.

not sure on size but it only misses each side of the box by about 1mm
i wanted the steering rods to run parallel to each other,so servo horn holes were the same spacing as the steering holes on outboard if that makes any sense

Yes that makes since . The mount on my out drive is 2 inches from hole to hole . I will look for a servo horn as close to that size as i can find .

when i have some spare $$$ going to order one of these hope it will fit my servo

Do you think the ALuminum horns are needed on a boat or do you just wany some bling .

WHEN you crash the plastic horns break instead of your servo gears
