the quality of the sealing is fairly poor, on mine the stumble blocks were not sealed at all and there was open holes in a lot of places were its joined.
i would say the second hand one your dad got was never sealed properly at all.
as for the rest of it iam more than happy with my purchase which with shipping cost me $250 a.u
mine has been put together fairly well every thing fits nice and the hull is true, just the sealing wasn't very good.
its a very nice looking hull, there is no way i could have made anything as good with a wood kit, i think if its sealed from the start there shouldn't be any problems at all.
would definitely buy another
wow no sealing on the stumble blocks!
the guy that had this one sealed some stuff but not well....apparently. oh well. I may get over the negative thoughts about it when I see it run again! this was a frustration I did not need, I have 3 other boats that need to be finished by April 24, and the weather is holding me up.
Just to compare, My Wifes Villain S1 (an original) which we have raced as a nitro for years and is now converted to FE comes in at around 2400g with ul-1 motor and controller, 5500 35c Hyperion G3 packs and an OS lower.
This boat also has a glass cowl, and been damaged/repair with paint.
If yours comes in at under 2kg then LOOK out, that thing will scream!!!
okay sun is shining long enough for a few pics, added 3 coats of acrylic lacquer to the hull, and painted the canopy and cleared that as well.
bit of a close up to show the colour.
its a custom colour i had done, cost me a small fortune so i would rather not give out the paint codes
okay then it was really a $10 spray can of acrylic, its called 150 cyan thats all thats written on it.
i want to keep the mgm for my mean machine as its they only boat i have going and dont want to risk it.
will start with a y537/3 or m440/3 and if that works well may try a s215 or m640
its just going to be a sport setup, reliability being my main concern
as i run 2x2s packs they run from the back of the front box threw to the servo at the rear, will try and get some pics tomorrow.
here is the dimensions i was given,my box is not as high threw the front section it is only the same height as they original box
