thanks kris never thought of that, mite be worth considering as my tunnel has a high $$$ metal gear servo from ebay about $7 worth
these cheap 10kg servos hold up rather well only had one quit after it got dunked a few times, seems to do rather well with my lower leg
some have been in boats over 2 years

Scott i tried a 1/4 hole on my links & it does not work . I even tried up to a 5/16 & that does not work either.

not 100% sure what you are referring to, if its the hole size the steering rod goes threw then mine is 1/4 hole with 1/4 brass tube inside that, this is the reason i made my rods parallel to each other as they dont move closer together or further apart as much.
with your steering the lower leg doesn't have to turn very much, i think i have less than 20 deg deflection each way

Yes that is what im talking about . My rods are very close to the same space apart on the servo as they are on the mount. So i dont need it to turn to full lock in both directions ?.

no full lock, just checked mine i have about 18 deg each way from centre and i dont think i use all that while running, out drives are very sensitive to steering
watch ow tight i turn in parts of this video and i am not using full steering.
i always limit my servo throw, but i also use exponential so its not so sensitive around centre
but if i need to turn hard while going slower i still can

It bairly turns . Mine will do that & a tad more with out the links hitting anything . I thought i need all of the steering possible . Im so use to 1/8 offroad . Were you set your steering servo up to full lock to lock . I will have to by a small ppiece of wood tommorow to make a new back panel . Thank so for posting the video . That is very very helpfull.
