Got bored while waiting on new ESC to come so decided to seal the hatch so I don't have to use hatch tape anymore. Used some 1/8" closed cell sponge tape and some 1/4" chrome socket cap screws with neoprene washers. Took rest of electronics out and turned boat upside down and pushed it under water in tub and not a drop got inside. It's water tight. Saw this done by Keith Bradley in a thread on here and I HATE hatch tape!!

God yes and it's not just the annoyance of having to tape it and un-tape it each time. It's the glue residue it leaves on my pretty paint job...

            Nice job on the seal,
That is what I try to do to all my boats.
It just makes it so much easier to get in and out of the hull,
For testing speeds and temps of the setup.

Got my new ESC installed and programmed. Did a bench test all seems well. Got a new boot on to correct leaking spot. Will get it in water in morning for first run. I'll try and get some video. It's maiden voyage ended in a ESC fire so hopefully tommo goes better

Yes, flush. I raised it for the latest run, buy start this position, you don't want it to run too dry first.

Yea and I'm using the y547 prop. I'm also hoping I have my turn fin at 90* after I put the shim in......

                          Looking at your picture

When you slide the flex shaft into the boat do you have to push it to one side to get it to slide into the collet ?

Looks a little bent to one side

I do not have to push flex cable over at all when I slide flex cable in. It was my first stuffing tube install and I did notice it was not exactly lined up. During bench test yesterday shaft seemed to be rotating freely without any binding. I would hate to have to re-install this stuffing tube. Will this be a problem? Thx Jeff

Just keep it good and greased and as long as it turns freely you should be ok. Eventually it will wear one side of the tube but I'd wait till it's a issue before I worried about it.

Did you fix the in line water so it is going to the low nipple on the water jacket,
Than out the top nipple of the jacket ?

Also is there room to spin the jacket so the back jacket nipple is just about on the top ?
It just lets any air out and fulls the jacket up all the way with water and work better like that.
