This HW lasted 4 runs on my mini hydro, also have a buddy with the square drive in a mono he didn't like it either the best thing to do with your HW is throw the cable in the trash and buy the Octura cable with the 1/8 prop shaft as the strut is bushinged for the 1/8 shaft already this is what I did and made many runs no problems the HW is nice though

Oh no, don't get me wrong the HW is awesome the square drive flexi and prop shaft that comes with it sucks

WOW looking at some of the specs I hope one of the mods your talking to the factory about is its disproporsional width of the hull... it looks and sounds fantastic but 37 1/2" X 9.05" ? seems skinny to me. Just like she said " another inch would be great" If it needs fixed, the time to fix it would be now. I'd like to have one of these, and hope you would consider constructive input.

I tend to agree. Probably will never know about the handling until we get one to test. No chance to fix. They're 'fixed' on their mould.

Its been a month since the last post, any updates on final specs and release dates?

Got an email on Monday saying they were back to work and would answer my emails right away. Grrrrrr. Go figure! They've been off a month for the CNY. STILL trying to get some answers regarding costs, shipping, etc. I definitely will only order 1 to see how it runs before I invest in something that doesn't work that well. Buying ONE is expensive as hell due to the shipping but better than having something unsellable on our hands.

I appreciate and share your frustration with the delays!! Hopefully some news soon.

Have to add my two cents to the two piece drive shaft. The one thing that is good about it is that the thrust is transfered to the bushing where the drive dog is rather than the motor. It solves the problem of needing a thrust bearing because the load is not transferred to the motor like a single piece shaft. I eventually went to a single piece shaft for ease of maintenace, but it was very reliable.

All the best to Jim on this project. There are open questions out there for sure that only can be answered by fronting the $ and breaking down the sample boat for eval. Literally rip it apart piece by piece. Potential is there, I can see it.

Drive. 4mm is the drive seen in this application I believe. Depending on how the flex is assembled with the dog it could go either way. #1 question is how it turns. Assembly differs on these from square ended, etc.

Outside of the hobby. A friend from my full time job in telecom did see the model with duals and it did not work out at all.

A good looking hull in my book. Worth it to check more into it.

We will continue to pursue it. Regarding the 4mm setup, as electric said, it has one plus...no load on the motor. With the maker of this boat the motor end of the shaft is the normal round shaft/collett setup with square on the strut end. It has a 'captive' driveshaft in the strut into which the square end of the flex fits. Biggest pain in the rear is the need to take the strut OFF the boat to get the shaft out to lube! I hate that!

it has 2 plus's, you cant ever lose a prop and it transfers load to the teflon bushing

I like mine

I like my square shaft setup for sport running. No axial load on motor. Prop shaft is fixed. Runs nice.

I have a teflon liner in my stuffing tube. I drip some oil on the shaft and let it run down inside the liner, works great. haven't pulled mine yet. I will before I run this spring and grease it again also.

i do not want something that I have to pull each day I run it, to much work with a whole family running boats and all the boys are to young to do much maintenance yet.

Maybe it will end up biting me, but I did this for years and years running gas boats and it always worked for me.

Boat looks great, but I agree on how narrow it is. Wow!
