      As Tyler mentioned, measure the motor and cross reference it to models available on the TP Power website. No way to know kV without testing RPM on a known voltage, assuming the hand written kV rating sticker has been removed. Those don't last long.

      Can you not contact the previous owner?

        If you can rotate the motor in the mount, you may find a label on the can near the back end bell. BTW, you might want to put zip ties on those cooling hoses.

          The motor is 4 1/2 in long and 7 1/4 in diameter. I was also thinking maybe the KV is on the motor underneath the cooling sleeve. I will zip tie all the hoses yes thanks

            You might want to consider measuring again or checking out your measuring instrument. I seriously doubt that the motor is 7 1/4" in diameter. That would be the size of a gallon paint can.

                I measured around the outside diameter. I guess the measurement required was 2 1/8 in diameter x 4 1/2 in long

                  I took Zoomas advice and rotated the motor and hand written tag was still there. Thanks everyone

                    I think this is the motor the specs on the diameter and the length match up as well as the KV

                      Also when I got this boat the ESC was burned up. I ordered this one,will this be ample enough for this boat? Octura x648 prop. Im running 5S and 6S batteries in series

                        A little on the small side.
                        The motor is {Continuous Power (W): 7200}
                        On 6S this would be 300A

                        What size boat is this beast in?

                            Back to Amazon goes that 180amp ESC. Now on the hunt for a 300 amp like you suggested. There’s one in offshores store for $300. Will that one be ok ?

                              If your not going over 8S the Castle will take over 300 amps, Stump Fab has water cooling plates so surf the site a bit. On 8S 970kv would be a no load 28700 rpm and probably 21000-23000 actual. 67-72mm (gas props) might work as you have the power
