As Mic proposes, get the castle XLX2 with the Stump Fab cooler.
What TP engine is this ?

The Castle XLX2 has a max voltage of 8S.
I don't have any experience with cats this big, but isn't that a bit low of a voltage for something this big with a 970 KV?
Wouldn't it be more suitable to 10-12 S?Cheetah, Super Rio, (Mod) Starship (Mod and sold),

Larry,
The Castle 2028 has a 780kv and runs very nicely on 8S. 970kv is sweet spot for 8S assuming you have stout controller which is the case with the XLX2. The 5860 and 2028 are similar size motors.

The nice thing on 8S over 6S is lower amps and with all the P - 4S batteries we have already, S class works. 4 5000ma 4S packs series then parallel is 10000ma 8S that should power a large cat.
In some of my 2 lap testing on 8S the Castle XL2 pulling over 300 amps (7500 watts)never went over 120 degrees.

Guys I appreciate everyone’s advice and help they’ve given me since I started posting again with this new boat. But I think I have just come to realize I am in way too over my head with this type of bigger boat. My knowledge from years ago has left me and I just don’t feel comfortable putting this thing together and then running it. I went to my local hobby town here today and bought a ready to run blackjack 42 as I think this is more along the lines for me to get my feet wet getting back into this electric boating. Therefore I will be listing all this for sale in the swap shop soon including the new stand and travel bag I built for it and the brand new castle XLX2 that I ordered from stump fabrication today. Again thanks for all the help but I was in over my head with this boat and glad I realized it in advance before I flipped this thing or crashed it costing myself a fortune. Thanks again for all the advice.
