The same style was on my Blackjack 29 V3, loved it, which is why I switched it on the Voracity. Never had an issue with the Blackjack hatch. Perhaps your's needs a little tweaking? I had to cut a few coils off the spring on the new one so it would plunge deep enough to clear the bottom of the cup before you turned it 90*.

Changed out the hatch screw on my Voracity for a spring loaded push and twist style. I had to chip out the plastic bushing that got epoxied into the hatch when I reinforced it from below last summer. The hole in the fiber glass was a little large so I filled in the gaps with, what else, JB Weld. The cup was an exact fit with the stock piece. Put on a new 450/3 prop from Dasboata that he cut down to 47mm for me since the 447/3's aren't being made anymore. Just need some cooperation from the weather...

I always like these posts on the car forums I frequent. Not everyone has a dedicated build thread, and its fun to see what was getting tweaked on the work bench.

I swapped out an ADS outrunner for a Turnigy 2836 3200Kv in my Barbwire XL. Drilled out the motor mount to make room for the new stainless collet and just nicked the lower cooling passage. A little JB Weld and it's as good as new.

Installed a swim deck on the Spartan, cooling bulkhead fittings, and replumbed the cooling lines. I've been correcting a lot of sins from the previous owner. The boat is my "beater" and I get a kick out of working on it. Its nice to have a hull that can get scratched up, banged around in the car, and driven by "guests" at the lake.
