Guys, swimming out to get a boat without flotation is a bad idea. You will likely put a lot more water in the boat and as crazy as it sounds quite a few people drown each year doing it.

I have swam to get it in the canal here- just have to watch out for gators
. Other than that, I use my Jetski if I am at the lake or I used to have a nice 2 person inflatable that I bought to retrieve my boats but I left it when we moved- the truck and our cars were literally stuffed so full that we had absolutely NO room to even fit a deflated raft anywhere!!!! Prior to that, I bought a $19 air mattress from Wal-Mart that I would lay on and paddle out! Worked great and was comfortable as hell to chill on lol.

My rescue boat looks close to the last one also
I made my catcher a little narrower as it helped hold the dead boat straighter and eaiser to push (makes it a little harder to get lined up when it is far away)
I also used some coat hanger wire at the front that goes under the water a bit because I found some dead boats that were starting to sink would just roll under the rescue boat
Runs on an old brushed motor with reverse on 4000 4 S lipo

We use it a several times a day every time we run. Never had motor even get warm. Use the same 2s 4000 battery all day long.

Even the ones who said no way at firstOriginally posted by capnswanny View PostCheap plastic kayak from Wal Mart in the back of the truck or top of the car. The best way for boat retreival
Im sure that this subject has been brought up many many times but im just trying to figure it out. Being that we run electric boats and not gas the likelihood that our boats are going to shut off in the middle of the lake is pretty slim I know it can happen but not that often. What i want to know is how you guys are getting boats back that have flipped over, rolled over, and or sunk down to the bow tip or just has a bit of the boat out of the water. I don't have the money or the resources to have a John boat or canoe with a trolling motor im looking for alternate methods of retrieval. Let me know what you guys do.Tags: None
