Guys I know I'm new to this by I'm not new to rc cars and we used to be able to dyno motors. Now brushless I'm new to we used brushes then I got out the joint for a few years and now I'm lost please help. There has to be some chart it explaination or something to why you set to 0.00º it higher and go say 15º our higher. Please would some one explain I'm laymin terms about this for me. I'm lost at where to set mine? ??? I have a leopard 4082 2000KV motor on two 3s packs 6000mah 100C raiting on a seaking 180a esc in a traxxas spartan. Please help?

That is a "D" wind motor and they like low timing 0-5*.Comment

Your particular motor is a "D" wind motor, it likes low timing, the factory default setting on the Seaking is at 15*---too high for that motor. If you have a program box, set it at the lowest setting.Too many boats, not enough time...

Ok I have a program box I pulled it out and did a do called had torque test and I set it to 3.75º over the 15ºi had Ashton I felt a huge amount of difference.so soon as I get my new prop I'll run again and I'll get another set of trim tabs and see how it does I'm going to get a garmin Friday I can't stand not knowing the real speedComment

lol.. You'll get over it. I very rarely GPS my boats anymore. Maybe once, when my setup is dialed and that's it.
If I were you, I wouldn't risk all that nice running gear in a Spartan. It's a ticking time bomb. One bad crash at 60 and say buh bye to all of it.Comment

If you are running that motor or 6S you are risking a meltdown. Unlike a car you have no gears to help reduce the amp draw, the Kv is really too high. What prop are you running and for how long? That motor is better suited to 4S, maybe 5S. 6S means ~39,000 rpm on good packs, too high for anything but short SAW runs. That's okay as long as you don't run for too long and/or keep the prop small. There are better motors suitable for the Spartan with a lower Kv.ERROR 403 - This is not the page you are looking for

Well I changed the timing to 0.00º from 15 and it off the boat I have never heard itscreen like that before omg it does make a big difference and sound hope that correlates to speedComment
