I'm not sure that soft stuff is wax from molding, being that they don't mold the entire hull at once. They do the top and bottom seperate then join the two halves. Most likely it's some sort of filler, and yes mine was the same. I just scraped a bit and put seam sealer on the edges before I painted mine.
I got my Mean Machine today.

Thanks Dana, that is good to know. What sort of seam sealer did you use? Another unrelated question: which drive cable did you use, .187 or .150? The collet of the former is rather big, not giving alot of clearance for the Etti mount. I had used .187 for my last build and liked the 1/4" brass tube w/o teflon liner, but I studied your build and saw teflon liner, not sure the diameter though, hard to tell from pic.
Thanks.Too many boats, not enough time...

Dana,
Thanks! Most likely I will do the same, I know many people are found of using .187 cable, I need to see the clearance when the collet arrives, I don't want to place the motor too high or angle it more than necessary. Right now with the Etti mount you suggested and the .150 collet, everything looks good.
Any good recipe as to how far the rudder bracket to the strut bracket? My initial mock up : starboard side strut plate to rudder bracket plate about 60 mm.
Do you think it is ok for me to start a build thread? as I said before, it is of no value to members here but for my knowledge only, buy I am not sure it is ok to constantly ask questions, anyway, thank you thus far or i would not be doing this build at all.Too many boats, not enough time...

Dude, I'm more than happy to help -). You can start a thread if you like... Up to you really. I'll measure my rudder to strut tomorrow if you want.
I'm sure your build thread would be of value to others, as there will be many tips and suggestions in there. Just gotta be careful who you take advise from hehe

Thanks!
I know what you mean, my deck is set low too, and i can see the filler all around the joint line. I don't mind that, but there is separation between the puddy and the body shell, oh, well...Too many boats, not enough time...
