    My Neu 1527 and 2230 must have been older, they all have short/rigid wires coming out at the back, no flexible silicone, just very stiff coil wires tinned and insulated. That way they have no chance to have a melted solder joint inside like yours.

    Looks like they did learn something from Castle but probably not the very best ones. Some feature works great in cars, and only in cars.

    looks like some one somewhere has been in the back end for the motor.
    I have seen alot of Neu's and they all have had about 1 1/2" wires coming out of them and each one is a different colored wire. (insulation that is) red/blue/yellow come to mind.

    Ok here's a little addition to the "new can style" story.......

    Ran this motor for the very first time on Sunday and after 2 laps the boat quit. Opened it up to find 2 of the 3 motor leads fell out of the motor. Take a look at the attached pics, sure looks like solder on the ends not to mention the wire says 12AWG. And the problem was not the boat or set up as I ran all day Sunday on my first (and only remaining) 1527 1Y (in background of 3rd pic for comparison) with ZERO issues in 4 classes. Needless to say I'm NOT a happy camper right now and NEU will be getting a phone call this afternoon.

    Ya this looks pretty much like a bi-directional joint design. Castle took Neu's rotor/stator design and Neu is learning some very thoughtful details from Castle, and probably other cheaper manufacturers.

    Actually I designed the rear stabilizer to be trimmed to fit is several different applications. If the whole gerth was needed a window would look nice!

    Randy those are nice rear mounts but can I make a suggestion , At 3/8 thick slabs there is a lot of metal and weight there . are you going to cut some windows out at both ends to lighten the mounts up a bit.............Just a suggestion

    The 4mm bolt holes are on a 30mm spread. Now here's another kicker.... if you use the 4mm option the bolts have to be cut very precisely to get the full bite in the threaded end bell holes without hitting the stepped area of the can that is directly behind the now wider 4mm holes. Found this out after I carefully removed the end bell, bolted it to my mount from Peter and used the 3mm holes to mark the new pattern on the mount. I then drilled the holes for the 4mm bolts thinking everything was good to go, then I found the bolt length issue. Wish they would just go with 4mm bolt holes on the original 25mm pattern and drop the 3mm holes completely........

    Ya I have been watching Neu and Castle for a long time not anything new to me realy. But thanks they are real adjustable I wanted to do them last year but did not get to them until now.

    Hey Randy, Those kick some serious booty. Wow. I think the bulk of us are just watching. As long as the can diameter remains the same your safe. What a quandry we are in.
