I just looked. Doesn't look like I have.

I do have the new 2215. I'm pleased with the changes they mad to that. I think it's a safer approach. Doesn't seem cheaper to me but I wont know how it runs until it gets wet.

Has anyone summarized the changes? I'll be checking the gangs boats in the club. See who has what.

That being said, I'm kinda bummed since I recently sold my awesome 1.5Y neu that was built last year for this motor (wanted more KV vs. more prop)... the leads on the old motor do look a lot better.

On my 1515 1y the motor wires appear to be tied tightly to windings using strong cord.

As frustrating as these recent changes can be they're still the best motors I've run to date.

I'm really concerned about this. I need to buy a 1527 but don't like the looks of what they have done to their motors. It looks like they have greatly reduced the quality and dependability of what was already an expensive motor! Now what? I have had two Leopard 5692's throw the magnets and take out a Castle 240HV on each occasion. I can't afford any more of that!!

Common sense tells me they will look at the problem then address the problem. If you have a problem they MAY pay return postage if asked.

I'm pretty sure that bending the wires around is how one of the 2215's I have was baked. Bend bend bend grounded to the can maybe.

I was thinking the same thing. If you have a flexible wire coming out of the can it can go any direction and keep it shorter. The old way I have always been scared about breaking the motor wires from multipliable bends time after time. As long as the wires do not come out of the can it is ok and when it does they warranty for life of the windings.

I got an e-mail from Steve Neu recently in response to my inquiry about needing to make a 90 degree bend on the wires of a new 1521 1.5D which I got from Neu last February. The wires were as stiff as (insert your own analogy here), but Steve said go ahead and bend them after they exit the endbell at least 1/4". I think I'll go back and fab a "support" for them anyway.
