Turnigy vs. Hyperion Eagle Tree Comparison

I have various 6S5000+
packs always cycled gently first 3-5 runs
run to 80% or 3.3v min
My G3 6S35C5500 are still 95% ok after 125+ cycles... 16 months..just longer to balance
TP 6S45C5000 huffed and puffed after 10 cycles .. 2 weeks... expensive choice !
Same setups and run characteristics..

And Andrew at Fast Electrics.com swears by Thunder powers glad i didnt waste my $$$ on them !!!!

why not PackVoltage Vs Watts ?

Assuming this is a mimic wot run, the data would show available power output from each pack
Ive Chinese 'no-names' that outperform TP45 on Vdrop... but on available Amps the TP output more power.(watts)...

As I see it, the critical variable is pack volts, given that prop speed [ and forward velocity] is a function of KV multiplied by Voltage. { That is, if maximum speed is the designated criterion}. For heat racing applications, the average voltage level is the important factor; high starting voltage that sags drastically during the race won't be desirable. In these sessions it won't be easy to examine the average voltage/session since the sessions consist of : plug-in/tape up/run/untape/unplug. Extracting the pure run figures would be difficult. What's interesting is that the Turnigy has a more gradual voltage decay compared to the Hyperion. In this example, in a race, the Hyperion would get you out front first but you'd get slower towards the end of the race as the Turnigy boat would start to catch up ! [ of course, in racing, highest top speed is only one of many components in winning]

So far I have only been running HK LiPos. Almost every pack I have starts to drop in performance after two dozen cycles. At around 50 cycles they start to come in a little puffy. They range from 20-30c to 40-50c. Run down to 80% and charged at 1c.

Assuming you ran both packs to LVC.. the turnigy gave lower watt/hrs than the Hyperion.. similar W outputs as shown by the graph.. but the turnigy 90 secs Vs the hyperion 125 is a large gain in performance.
Accumulative draw ( total drawn ) from the T pack was substantially less than the Hyp, running both down to LVC.
The Turnigy with a 90 sec runtime window may not finish the race compared the hyperion's 125 !
On the face of the data displayed, id run the T pack for a sprint, and the Hyp for an oval.

some demand that extra 0.5A edge to win races.
others consider the added $$$ unjustifiable for sport.
Never met, but spoken on phone at various.
I considered the TP brilliant, until they went pop fizzle a few months early.
with lvc3.3 I have no explanation, when G3 ran same setup ok

I think you should have at least used the 40-50c turnigy's Tony- those 30-40 ones are crap, and your putting them up against 35-70c packs

Paul, I only had the 30-40 C battery(s) to test ; I will test the nano 45-90 C packs soon.

I'm puzzled why the Australian dealer doesn't have 45C packs? They have been out here for quite some time.

Ok will do , just checked Hyperion Australia web site , still no 2s 45c 5000 packs in stock & he has not put any prices on his web site yet ,so i cant compare your prices with his anyway ...

Got the nano packs today ; will do an Eagletree comparison in a day or so using the same setup previously used.
