    No worries. It is indeed an odd setup. All of the "joys way"scheiße boots use this configuration.


    BTW- the extra fiberglass around the motor mount prevents the hull from cracking and is holding up well. It just need a little stiffness.

    Here, these should explain;

    In the first photo, notice the step up in the hard prop shaft. It's slight, but keeps the shaft captive in the strut as shown in the last photo.

    There is only 1 set screw in the coupler, on the motor side.

    Douggie- the coupler is a square-slip, making the drive a two piece setup. There's a step up on the hard prop shaft in the strut, the prop dog should be snug up to the strut, no gap, on this setup. If there is a gap, the shaft will fill with water and leak inside the hull.

    When the cable contracts in this setup, it simply moves in and out of the coupler. This is quite an unusual setup from the factory.

    Well, I will be rude that is a recipe for disaster on the photos posted, that I viewed and posted on...especially at the motor connection, as previously stated. Shaft or flex drive a huge difference? The pictures look like flex. If it is a shaft it is OK but not the best drive system. That pond is also a recipe for disaster...WEEDS and way too short
