i think the plastic is to big to start of with, and the 225 is just way to big.
a x442 or a y537/ would be a sensible start imo till you get it dialed in

That is an agressive stainless prop and hard to balance and sharpen....do you have experience and the equipment to balance a prop. I would suggest a X442 to start with.

Buy a a balanced/sharpened prop from OSE or eggneg. I would not trust a local hobby shop. To do the job properly takes about an hour.

The TC31 was designed to run on a Prather 215 using the stock .32 motor. And its not a bad prop to use with FE either. Mine is setup with a 1521/1.5Y on 6S and a 225 prop. Runs well but its not at its peak. Still great run times and your going to find the boat is very stable even in wind and chop. Put the hull on a good flat surface, that will be your starting ride angle, the bottom edge of the strut should touch the table surface and be parallel. You may end up with some negative angle on the strut later, but neutral puts the hull on a decent plane. Later you can drop the strut a little at a time (if needed) to decrease how wet the hull is running. Make sure you plug the air holes in the canopy and make them water tight. I just cut some white plastic and glued them in place. I'll post some pics of mine if this doesnt make sense. Its a heavy cat but sure does drive well.

it may well run good with that prop but start of with something smaller first

Start smaller to make sure heat wont build up too quick. Also to help dial in your hardware settings to make sure it is running its best. Setup is the key to making a boat run its finest.
Once you are satisfied with the results progressively go larger a little at a time.

yes it was my suggestions that dddmx3 go with a 11-12xl on 6s.preferably a 12 xl this should also keep amp draw down compared to a 4s setup.
this should give decent power for a 31" cat not knowing its weight.
on a other site it was suggested to use a ul-1 motor/esc. imo this would have been insufficient to power such a hull.
there has been a growing trend on some forums of people giving advice on running 8xls on 6s with turnigy 120a esc,s, thought i would try and save dddmx3 from there stupidity by giving him a reasonably reliable setup for the $$$ he had to spend.

That motor can pull WAY more than 100 amps continuous! That is a great charger though, I have one myself!

If you do not have much money to spend and you think you break in electric components? I suggest you read some more comments on setting up FE boats for a first time run, especially if you have not run FE boats before. You must start on the cautious side of the equation and not burn up your hard earned dollars and if possible buy or borrow an Eagle Tree or similar device and keep your initial runs to less than 90 seconds. Also set up your boat to not run wet....make sure your CG is correct. Also please note your prop must be balanced and sharpened, if you use a raw prop as you suggest you will, it will not be a good day at the pond!!
