No matter what you try, epoxy does NOT stick to abs.
Using CA helps to let the CF stay in place, but you need epoxy to make the cf solid.
In fact you're making a "hard skin" inside the abs hull.

Unless : use a brush and "paint" the whole inside of the hull with CA.
That leaves a nice surface for the epoxy to stick.....................

The guys are right, the only thing that will stick to ABS long term is CA.
Check with Randy at BBS.
You need to completely cover the inside of your hull with CA using a brush, and then lay the carbon fibre inside. Make sure you press it down to make full contact and let it cure.
If some areas don't seem to have been glued properly flow some CA onto the carbon fibre so that it will flow through down to the ABS and again press it down until cured.
It's a bitch of a job, you will glue your fingers to the hull several times and the fumes will make your eyes water !
Finally when it has all cured, brush on a thin layer of polyester or epoxy to stiffen the carbon fibre.
Bingo - you now have carbon fibre hull with an ABS skin on the outside !

Ok. So use Ca or an adhesive to apply the cf at first then when that is done drying use epoxy to coat the cf and you have the stiffness then. Correct?

Another factor to consider: hidden antenna.

With FG hulls your boat can have no visible antenna if you use a 2.4G radio. That is not possible for carbon fiber hulls for its electrically conductive and thus shielding.


Also GPS is hard for a full carbon hull.

I have had 0 issues with my tactic 2.4 ghz system in CF reinforced hulls. A full carbon hull may be a different story.
