I've got an abs hydro I wan't to strengthen a bit, but not sure what to use.

Sorry, but i beg to differ! You can't use any sort of resin or epoxy to to mat down your CF or FG sheets to an ABS hull. It won't stick no matter how much you scuff up that hull. You need to use CA and mat down the cloth with some 3M Spray adheasive.

I stand corrected then. I was under the impression if you used epoxy in a thin enough state, it will seep through the weaves and bond the same as fiberglass.The RTR Nightmare- Electric King of Shaves

spray adheasive will flex

3M Super 77 spray adheasive! What are you talking about? Spray adheasive will flex?? Your hull is the one flexing. Your reinforcing it to stop or minimize the flexing. Suit yourself, try whatever you want Just giving you advice on the proven methods. But if your insistent on using epoxy then why did you ask??

You need an epoxy or resin to cause the CF to become rigid and strong
3m will stay flex able and so will the CF..

Seriously, please ask Randy at BBY racing. Or go to his website. And look under his forum, he has done a thread on reinforcing ABS hulls. Epoxy will not stick to ABS.

Westbeach is right !
No matter what you try, epoxy does NOT stick to abs.
Using CA helps to let the CF stay in place, but you need epoxy to make the cf solid.
In fact you're making a "hard skin" inside the abs hull.
Unless : use a brush and "paint" the whole inside of the hull with CA.
That leaves a nice surface for the epoxy to stick.....................Comment
