I wonder why the nitro/gas guys don't want to deal with FE.

That must be regional, we haven't had a problem here. Infact they embraced us and a few of them are running LSH. ( with P-Spec power)
Of course, a couple of us are now running LSG. Go figure.LOL

Also, we are not running with the gas and nitro boats except in open classes. We are running FE classes at gas, nitro and FE races.

Oh, and Ray... for the record... most everything I've said about reducing the number of classes has been being generous and accomodating... I'd actually like to see the TOTAL number of classes brought down to maybe 15 or so total...

But, can you imagine trying to get that to happen???

Have you SEEN the GAS guy's rule debate going on right now on Jim's RC Boat Dock??? They have way more problems than we do!

We raced with the Nitro guys several times this year... They DO want to get involved with FE, but they always... ALWAYS, state that the rules are a mess and don't make sense... Go figure...

Our Spec Boats really got them eager to jump in, however... Too bad they aren't "real" classes...

Also, it's not clear in this list, but I wouldn't put any effort personally into getting rid of the N1 classes... I'd just leave them alone, though I would drop the parallelling limit just like all the rest. This is just a couple more classes and the participation would dictate how often they are run... There are too many still involved in these classes back east, and one lone sole in CA () that like running this class still...

You have a very valid point about making the SPEC class(es) a legal event since there is so much activity with them. It's very easy to get into, the cost is fairly low, and the racing is just as much fun. I would like to see it a legal class so that no matter which club event you go to the specs/rules are the same.

The paralleling limit is rather strange. I would like to hear an explanation from the org's electric chairs about why that was put in. In my opinion they need to get rid of that for sure!

Somewhere there is a 10,000mAh limit. That's driving the guys crazy because the new G3 batts don't come in 5000's, they are 5500's! DOH!

So perhaps:

Up to 7.5V - Open
Up to 15V - Spec
Up to 15V - Open
Up to 22.2V - Open
Up to 40V - Open

That would still simplify things considerably... Not necessarily on WHAT is being run, but in what the rulebook says is a class... Still a lot of power levels to choose from. At least 25 classes if I'm counting correctly the number of hull types (Mono, Offshore, Sport Hydro, OPC, Hydro), plus 1/10th scale.

Maybe some are right in wanting to keep the "P-Spec" thing at a local level... but I think it would be a shame to have so many people racing this popular format, only to NOT be able to translate that into a legal class at a National event.
