    Please understand that I am new to all of this, but it looks like it has a flexible coupler that is about 1-1/2"long between the motor and the shaft that the prop is on. Is that what you mean?

    wait, is it using a 4mm solid shaft? if your willing to, you could pull the shaft (and stuffing tube) out and buy a 1/8" to 4mm flex coupler so you can re-install the shaft so it hase less of a downward angle.....

    The prop is a 4mm Graupner carbon. If I understand right it won't fit directly on the strudder setup, but I'll look at it when I get home.

    i think you should just put the strudder back on....you can upgrade to a 600....i did with mine (and a larger prop....the one on it right now should be good) and it did increase in speed 2-3mph....

    What is the solution? Should I switch back to the strudder or should I look at cutting the bottom of the hull where the prop exits and running the shaft out of the bottom of the V?

    As fas as upgrading goes, I would like to keep the stock esc, but I was thinking of a 600 motor.

    the reason the nose is being pushed down in the water is because the shaft is at such a downward angle...that mini v is pretty quick too....the SW36 is kind of slow unless you upgrade it....

    I need Shockwave 26 help

    Hey guys I just got a Shockwave 26 and a Mini-V used. The guy I got them from had converted the SW26 to straight drive (no strudder) and I put a 40.5mm Graupner carbon prop on it. When we went out to run them, the completely stock Mini-V is much faster the SW26. Now I am new to boats, but it seemed like I could definitely tell when the MV stepped up on plane, but couldn't tell any similar step on the SW. It looks like the nose is being pushed down into the water. Any ideas? I looks to me like the prop comes out at a pretty steep downward angle. Basically, I think he just pulled the tube from the strudder out and put the new one in its place. It is stock except for the straight shaft. Running IB4200 6-cell in the SW and IB1400 in the MV.

    I have to leave for work shortly, but I'll try to get pics and maybe a video tonight.
