Why would you go down from a 36mm diameter can? That's why I looking at the 3650's.- IMPBA Hall of Fame -

I hear ya, but then why would you want to go full P power with a UL-1 esc? You don't need to stay "limited"...just sayin'Last edited by HOTWATER; 12-27-2012, 09:29 PM.

I believe the AC SV 27 (Blue can) 36/56 1700kv will pull a larger prop than the UL-1 2030 motor will.....

I would not say the blue can pull that much larger a prop unless you want to burn it up.
My blue can was run in a 1/10 scale and didn't last the season but did get some great runs on it.
Only saw about a 2mph difference by using it over a lower kv proboat motor.
The UL1 motor will pull a decent prop with the right setup.
Interest thread.
I think it boils down to boat and speed your looking to achieve.
Not all boats like same prop and kv....OSE GIFTING ELF

Don,
In all honesty the UL-1 esc is best left to low wattage applications like the the 1800 and 2030 AQ motors. If you are really want to use one, look for a motor that will pull no more than a 1000W loaded. 2900KV is on the upper end for most 4S applications and a small kiss of extra cup will push amperages beyond what the AQ esc will handle. I would shoot for 2000-2200 kv range and be very careful on props if you wanted to stick with the AQ esc.
