Dunno about Lipos originally, but RC Lipos? Maybe. Can anyone prove or dispute and does it really matter Doby?

Yeah, John has been awesome with responding to emails and keeping me in the loop of things when needed. He is a funny guy, good person to do business with which makes his product even more awesome!Originally posted by kfxguy View Postpeople do make mistakes...what counts is what they do to rectify it. I think John does a great job of taking care of his customers (from what i've read....I've never had an issue yet)
Every last one of my boats picked up speed switching to Revo's and I was running a variety of batts before. Now it's all Revo's in everything I own for the most part!Lot Boyz Racing and Marine Team...Get Hype!

I'm with you Peter A. ....... Whether he invented them or not, is it Relevant? Many people claim to be the 1st to do things everyday. I'm taking it you don't use or like his product? If that is the case, I understand.Originally posted by Peter A View PostDunno about Lipos originally, but RC Lipos? Maybe. Just asking a question...based on what he states on his webpage......doesn't make me a hater...just curious....is there something wrong with that?
As for not liking his products...I'm actually thinking of trying some next season based on his pricing and how they preformed in a friends boat a few weeks ago.
Insinuating i'm a "hater" is a very stupid thing.Grand River Marine Modellers

LOL..... would you please elaborate how that would be a stupid thing when you post stuff like this.....Originally posted by Doby View PostJust asking a question...based on what he states on his webpage......doesn't make me a hater...just curious....is there something wrong with that?

On a positive note, I feel certain if an when you do actually try them, I think you will like them and your sly posts will come to an end. :)
I know you cant read my demeaner over the internet, but i'm not mad, trying to be ugly or pick an argument with you. I compliment the fact that he fixed the mistake, and then ask a question about if he invented LiPos...how is that stupid?
I got the information from the link you provided in your signature....says he invented them. Care to define stupidity?
My apologies...says he "Developed them.."Last edited by Doby; 11-12-2014, 05:06 PM.Grand River Marine Modellers

Perhaps the claim is regarding the use of lipo batts for rc use? Not necessarily that John invented the lipo battery, which according to wikipedia was originally developed in 1978, and has been further developed since then until we get to today. Whoever has achieved what is not so important as the fact that this technology has made our model boating so much more fun. Anyone who has been into model boats for decades can attest to how much nore we have today. I can remember when the options were dry cells, lead acid and nicad. The down sides to each meant either slow heavy boats or huge dollars. Now us 'leckies' can keep up with or kick butt on nitro and gas, and that is AWESOME!NZMPBA 2013, 2016 Open Electric Champion. I think either your not reading the entire post from start to finish or your reading it backwards. Your the one who said it was a stupid thing...i asked you to elaborate how it was a stupid thing for me to insinuate that you were being a hater. When did i say it was stupid for anything you said? I'm not typing from your computer last time I checked.......please, get your facts straight. lolOriginally posted by Doby View PostStupid thing......really,

I agree Doby, a simple question as yours does not make anyone a hater; I was actually a little thrown by the "Hater" comment and wandered where the reasoning had come from???Originally posted by Doby View PostJust asking a question...based on what he states on his webpage......doesn't make me a hater...just curious....is there something wrong with that?

Insinuating i'm a "hater" is a very stupid thing.
However, LiIon/Lipoly technology has been around for a long time, and adding electrolyte to induce conductivity made LiPo's more user friendly in 99% of applications, especially the RC field, but this was many years after 1994. We could only use NiMh as the early LiIon/LiPo cells were completely useless (or I should say "unacceptable"), until the electrolyte was added around 2000. I don't know John or his background as far as LiPo's go, but we could certainly not find "RC LiPO batteries" that early in the peace, and this was an involvement with a government department. The statement on the website might be a play on words.
Now, with that said, I DO NOT hate John, or the batteries!! In fact I embrace any advancement, especially in battery technology. This area of our hobby WILL advance, and if it's John, or any other person, that has a hand in this, I applaud them. What I do read here is his customer service at this time is second to none, and his batteries are showing good reliability/value for money, and that to me can be worth more than a 2kph increase.

I suspect you have not read all of his "jab" comments at revolectrix and his promoting of turnigy Nano tech batteries (probably the most dangerous battery you can buy).Originally posted by Pitts View PostI agree Doby, a simple question as yours does not make anyone a hater; I was actually a little thrown by the "Hater" comment and wandered where the reasoning had come from???
Here's another example of a jab...
Serious question? Really? Because they sent 12ga wire versions by accident instead of 10ga versions? Wow. At least they aren't known for blowing up (nano tech), catching fire (nano tech), being doa (nano tech), having lackluster performance (nano tech) losing capacity quickly (nano tech), puffing (you guessed it).Originally posted by Doby View PostGreat service....but, brings Quality Control into serious question though................32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

Yes, I had read it all, but did not think he was a "Hater", more someone a little wary of the hype maybe???Originally posted by kfxguy View PostI suspect you have not read all of his "jab" comments at revolectrix and his promoting of turnigy Nano tech batteries (probably the most dangerous battery you can buy).
I agree with the Nano comment; I would never buy these again. My experience show's they are the most unreliable, unstable, overrated cells I have owned. I no longer use them in any model I respect, and I have an uneasy feeling when I do use them (the remaining packs that is)!!!!
I have though, had great success and like, the Zippy flightmax 40C cells. I have over amp'd, over-discharged, and generally mistreated some of these packs and they continue to work well, and show good IR readings. However, my next battery purchase will be Revo's (at this stage), but I'm in no hurry because the other packs don't need replacing yet...

If my comments were "jabs" then allow me to apologize for again, complimenting the company for fixing the problem, but then asking about QC issues. I didn't realize that asking questions wasn't allowed on this thread.
I'll only post things that have been cleared by the kfx police in the future. (please note the rather subtle hint of SARCASM in this posting.)
Revolectrix batteries are the second coming of electricity (or something like that in a different thread) and are never to be questioned in any manner by anyone..all hail Revolectrix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for my experiences with Turnigy's, Nanos Zippys, they are my opinions as they have treated me well over the years....don't like my opinion, tough.Grand River Marine Modellers
