I've been using this gadget when temps are below 25C.GillOh man!!Originally posted by Pitts View PostWhen HK released this for sale, I thought this is a great idea, but it has a minor fault. To give the batteries good heat soak, you would probably need a few of these warmer bags to do all the LiPo's; meaning it's just not big enough. This of course depends on how many LiPo's, and of what size, you take with you. Hence why I like my Cooler/warmer as it has a 14 litre capacity and fits all my LiPo's I need for the day.
The HK warmer is still good though...
With winter right around the corner, these would be great to warm up my packs at the flying field !.NAMBA20...Caterpillar UL-1, P-Spec OM29, P-Mono DF33, P-Spec JAE, Aussie 33" Hydro-LSH, Sprintcat CC2028 on 8s, PT SS45 Q Hydro, PS295 UL-1 power, OSE Brothers Outlaw QMono 4-sale, Rio 51z CC2028 on 8s

The topic of storing fully charged lipos in refrigerators has come up before. The wisdom of doing it has been seriously questioned before. I fully admit though, that I am very much a layman when it comes to lipo tech, so I just go by what I read from the online community. So I've seen people strongly claim it's a bad idea, and others say it's fine. I've done it and had no issues I have to say - but stopped ...... I think on advice gained from this very forum. So at the end of day the real truth of the practice remains a mystery. Interesting though if manufacturers are saying it works well........PERTH AUSTRALIA

This is very true. I would not have treated my LiPo's this way if it was not direct advise from the manufacturer. Here's an interesting fact that happened to me; I started building a 10 cell aircraft and purchased 4 x 5 cell LiPo packs to power it. I had charged all packs to 100%, and thought I had stored all 4 packs in my "LiPo" refrigerator. I had lost interest in the build, but 4 years later I decided to finish the model and removed the mostly built fuselage from the rooftop shelf. In it I found two of the packs in the battery compartment!!! I quickly tested them to find they were still reading 96%. I then rifled through the back shelf of the refrigerator and got out the other 2 packs, which tested at 99% (Bare in mind these had not been used in 4 years also). That was 2 years ago, and I still use all these packs in that finished model, but an interesting note is that the 2 packs left in the model (not refrigerated) have 1 cell each that looses capacity over time, and I have to cycle them before use. The originally refrigerated packs hold perfect charge.Originally posted by IRON-PAWW View PostThe topic of storing fully charged lipos in refrigerators has come up before. With that experience in hand, and due to the advise from the manufacturer (which I have now been doing for 14 years with no problems), I will continue with the refrigerating at 100% charge technique. Let me stress that I am not saying this is right or wrong, and that everyone should do it, I'm just stating my experience and what I am happy doing. I would love to hear from other manufacturers about their thoughts though...

Any feedback on more extreme low temp storage? As in 10-32 degF? I have considered storing my boat packs out in the shed for the winter, not sure if the very cold temps would be an issue though........My private off road rc track

Cold storage is ok but I'm pretty sure freezing them is a bad thing....Originally posted by kevinpratt823 View PostAny feedback on more extreme low temp storage? As in 10-32 degF? I made a new thread but it got moved to seller feedback, but I wanted to add it to this thread.
Last month I ordered a pair of 2s 5500 70c packs and when I opened the box I discovered that they had 12swg wires instead of 10swg. I pm'd revojohn and then sent him an email with picture. The response, "shoot, I'll send you some more".
The replacements turned up today and I am a very happy customer. Thankyou to John and Revolectrix for looking after your customer so well. Absolute tops! I can not only recommend the product but the after sales service as well.NZMPBA 2013, 2016 Open Electric Champion. NZMPBA 2016 P Offshore Champion.

Just to add, John replied to my pm and email within minutes, which is pretty awesome seeing as we are in different parts of the world! Yep someone must have had 'Mondayitis' with the wires but hey, we all screw things sometime.
