It wouldn't turn well at all compared to with the fin on, but for a straight SAW run that only requires very minimal turning it will be fine. The lake your running in looks big enough so there wont be any issues. Maybe try one easy run with the fin off and see how it goes.. I haven't done a real SAW run with my JAE until I run it a larger place than my local pond, but even there with the fin on I got 74mph out of it with a quick burst of throttle. Mine is running a pretty basic setup, a 4082 2200KV motor with a Seaking 180 on a SMC 5000mah 6s pack. Prop is a balanced and sharpened ABC H7. At some point in the next month I'll get it out to a larger lake and get a SAW run in without the turn fin on, I expect to see at least a 10mph gain if not more

I look at how it affects the ride angle. Any adjustment that lifts the front of the boat is a positive adjustment.
So on a strut or prop shaft angle, moving the bottom of the strut back is a positive adjustment, it lifts the front of the boat.
Maybe others see it different but that makes sense to me...

CG is not critical, and has the most influence on the turns, as long as you are in the ballpark (and it's a big park), it has little effect on running attitude.

Just try to run the boat as loose as you can, without it climbing up on the fin, or doing anything else funny.
Most riggers will not blow over unless something is wonky.
Also, there should never be a reason to service or change the shaft tube. It is well protected, and should never wear out. Removable skis serve only to frustrate...

How much positive angle(bottom tilted forward) in degrees have you run the turn fin? I'm set at .7 degrees positive, set with a digital pitch gage, and it's running solid, feels loose but staying down nicely.
My strut is down on the bottom ski and level. I'm running a Neu 1515 2050kv motor on 6s with a Flycolor 150 amp esc. My best run is with an ABC 1819-22-45 prop.
Do I loosen it up more with the turn fin? Or do I just need more power?

I put a emeter2 in my little 27" mono. its a 150 flycolor with a 3670 rocket RC. Im hitting LVC to my suprise on a X640. and its pulling like 2000w. Which is also jaw dropping to me because temps are under 100f after a long basher run. Essentially you have to run LVC at 3.1v - 3.0v because of voltage drop at the ESC. point being with data logging you learn a ton about whats going on and you will see a batteries performance real quick.
