Finished up the mgm tonight for the Rivercat. Well except for cap bank, waiting on a bag of caps I ordered. The rewire turned out excellent. I soldered some 12ga wires directly to the board for the cap bank. I'll cut the wires shorter and put some 5mm bullets so I can easily remove it change up the cap bank if I need to. Very pleased with the outcome. New clear shrink on it carbon plate hiding the screws in the cooling blocks. From the factory it only had a very small amount of heat sink grease on the heat sinks, I made sure there was a nice even coating. Then I bench tested it. Didn't work. I'm kidding lol. Works perfect. These escs are so smooth driving, I can't wait to get this boat finished.

I'm pretty dang impressed a 1521 1577kv pushed that cheetah to 77 mph! Dang that's a nice setup for a cheetah it sounds ... I think I might go back to that thought... Was going with a 4070 8s in one of mine, but rather stuff a t180 and 6s 1521 in it... 77 is fast enough for me and my cheetah....
Oh and Travis I'm trying not to take offense lol... I like going round and round too... Not just zoom zoom lol... I like to pretend I'm oval racing :) all by my lonesome... Going straight isn't as cool to me for some reason at all... I like seeing the water spit of all sides of the hull :)

No need to get offended. Lol. I only mentioned it because there's a couple people that think I only build straight line boats. But they probably wouldn't visit this thread anyway but I still wanted to make it clear it wasn't a zoom once or twice and look at the gps. Got quite a bit done today. Got the stuffing pass through done on the cheetah and. Rivercat. Made the servo mount for the rivercat and also had to machine a pass through for it where the boot attaches. Machine both struts for ball bearings and snap rings to hold them in.
Here's the fitting I machined for the boot.
In this pic you can see the strut has been enlarged for bearings and the snap ring groove. Also I put the bearings on an old flex with a spacer so I can smear a little red loctite on them all and slide into strut.
You can see how the bearing depth is perfect in relation to the snap ring. Guess I got lucky on this one because I eyeballed the snap ring location lol

Here's the servo mount I made. I've decided to do something different this go round. The rudder is on the left. The servo is on the left and down low in the sponson. Not that it weights a ton but the objective is to make the left side weigh a tad more and have the drag of the rudder to help it go straighter without as much rudder trim. Mounting weight down low is always a good thing too. I mounted the motor as low as it would go also. It took a lot of work to get this servo mount functional to where I could take the servo in and out without fighting with it. I like how it turned out tho.

Thx. I came across his thread (again but I didn't remember him putting it on the left) while searching for some answers on this. It seemed (from what he said) that it didn't help much at all but didn't seem to add any negatives to it. I kinda figured the rudder didn't have that much drag as to pull it straight but every little counts. What I think is going to help even more is I have the servo way to the left and down in the sponson (I think I saw one of yours mounted something like this which sparked this idea, so a big thanks to you!) and I'll have the bec and receiver off to this side. Basically trying to bias the weight without running different batteries on each side, which I've done before and does work. Shawn also had shimmed his strut a little which I'm prepared to do also but I prefer not to. Just an effort at "every little thing counts". It should be done by the weekend so I'll find out soon enough!
