What brand bearings do you use in the strut?
I'm bored so here's the multiple build thread

Is that the SF240 or 300?Originally posted by kfxguy View PostMy buddy sent me his esc and a motor to try in this green boat not knowing he was getting the boat. So first thing I did was cut the shrink off the esc and check for epoxy breaches in the circuit. Yep. Spots missing just like all the others so I lightly recoated it.

Put it back together with a tp 4070 1770kv motor for some 6s action

I have two of them and after a Schultz 40.160 they are wimps. at first thought they could hold up to what I did with the Schultz but they thermal out on me.

Do they void the warranty the ESC after that?

Well maybe they are butOriginally posted by RandyatBBY View PostI have two of them and after a Schultz 40.160 they are wimps. at first thought they could hold up to what I did with the Schultz but they thermal out on me.
1) you can't buy the Schultz escs anymore unless they are used
2) I can't afford what someone would want for one lol
I've pulled massive amps through the one in my shocker. It was in two different boats and both times neu sent me incorrect kv motors. Both were very high kv. I ran it on 6s both times. First time was in my mono. The next was in my shocker and I ran the shocker for a bit. Made several hard passes. Temps were at 205f on the esc according to the log. It still works fine. When it goes I have another one. No they will not warranty it one I take it apart like that. I've never really got anything boat wise warrantied anyway. Lehner motor. $500 down the drain. Mgm esc. $350 down the drain. It's the nature of the beast. No company wants to warranty boat stuff. Exactly why castle got out of it. I just suck it up and learn from my mistakes. Here's a log from last weekend for your entertainment. Lol

I finished the steering tonight. Got to use my new billet rod ends. I really like this setup compared to what I've been doing. Takes more time to set up but it's worth it. Im using a very hard 1/8" stainless rod. Very hard to bend it and thread it. I had to buy a high quality hss die for it. I then turn the end down so I can thread it for 4-40 thread. I made a mock up one out of the cheap hobby shop threaded rod and then transferred it to the larger rod.

Well I wasn't considering what I have a bad thing. Little harder to work with but I wanted some stiffer stuff. Less flex in the steering is goodOriginally posted by RandyatBBY View Postif you order 304 stainless steel it is softer.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

I will try to up load the data loging it is not much and I do thermal if I push it more that that. I set the gear rating at 1 and the poles at 4 for up load. I do not fun run I have to race a full mile at top speed turning a lot. this is in a Sport 34 inch boat at about 60MPH to 63MPM tops I am running a 1530 .5Y on a M447 4S2P and most of the time I run smaller props to not thermal.Originally posted by dmitry100 View PostRandyatBBY: Have you tried adding additional cooling to the SF300? I'm sure that thermal issue can be easily taken care of... lots of surface area on those fets there for more cooling.

Possibly we should talk about this on another thread as to not hijack Travis's thread.
