Here are a couple of pictures of the motor mounted in the hull using the modified ESC cooling plate.

This build is taking forever but I'm determined to get it finished on on the water. I've enjoyed it so much I have my eye on project No.2. Something a little larger this time, a 32" Wild Thing. From the threads I've read on here the build looks fairly straight forward. I found some plans for a 48" version as a free download but it doesn't look like the original. Do I just scale these down or are the original plans still available?

Did you laminate the bulkhead where the motor mount plates fits onto?

Doesnt look like it. I had two pieces of 1/64 ply for each bulkhead.

Yup, it's two pieces of ply glued together then sanded down.

Here's a couple of pictures with the first coat of paint. You'll have to excuse the colour, it was my son's choice. At least we'll be able to find it in the dark.

Just need to get some batteries for it and I'm almost there. Oh, and some radio gear!

Can you snap some pics with your hardware on for me? I bought some of that hardware and am curious on how you ended up making it work.

The hatch is home made. I kind of made it up as I went along, not knowing what to expect as an end result. I just started glueing some leftover scraps into the rough shape of the front, and made a frame from 1/8" balsa strips for the back and covered it in thin balsa sheet. Then lots of sanding and bondo. It's by no means perfect but it covers the hole in the top of the hull! Which was all I was really after.

The paint is still fresh (only got that first coat on about three hours ago) and I want to give it another couple of coats then some clear lacquer. After it's all dry and hardened I'll start getting the hardware back on and will post more pictures.

I think the blue anodised hardware is going to clash violently with the green. Ah well never mind. I never was very fashion concious.

KK. I've been looking at your drawings and what not about that strut, and that is where my main concern really lies as I have ordered two of them and hasn't thought about the difficulties you had before I placed my order.

As far as the strut goes I guess time will tell how it holds up, but I'm hopeful.
