Hello,
Although I had my big 4'O on the weekend I still managed to get a few hours into the build. Not much to do anymore, but I managed to get the pick-ups installed (very tight fit), some carbon veneer on the motor mounts, the servo horn completed and all the standoffs to keep the plates elevated. I will get the hull to the painters in the next couple of day and in the meantime work on all the electrics...

Hard to tell from the picture, but how did you secure the ESCs to the mount? Looks like the mounts are holding the ESC like bookends.

She is really coming together though, looks top notch.

That's a good question. Since the smaller MGM's has no mounting holes, I figured I can attach a "U" channel from one bracket to the other, so there will be a carbon strip going across the 2 ESC's and mount onto the sides. That part is still on the drawing board but will hopefully work. Its going to be one of those PITA jobs LOL I feel it!

My idea of the interior was designed around something "water related" and of cause CANADA was VERY important also. For some reason octopus came into my mind so I started drawing around that idea, and this is what we ended up with. (A MYSTIC Canadian Octopus) ...or in other words, Spirit of Canada

Getting the posts in was a real PITA, as they had to be slightly elevated (tunnel is V-shaped) but I got there in the end. The servo mount was designed to be a stand alone unit so the boat can run with minimum components, but at the same time be at the right height for the pull-pull system. The top plate is also elevated to cover the ESC's and made in 1.5mm carbon instead of 3mm. With x6 30mm oval shaped mounting plates and M4 stainless stand off's the servo mount should hold up to almost anything.

Hi all, here are some updates. It has been a busy Easter with family and WORK! but this project is really starting to come together. I got all the carbon for the project cut, but also spend some time on the drawing board making little mods here and there. Although we knew exactly what the interior was going to look like, I wanted to create some more details like little "M" logos in all the mounting posts and so on.

The supports for the stuffing tube and servo horn were also modified, and some more details was put into the servo plate also.

Got some more work done over the past few days. As promised here are some pics of the lipo mounts. We decided to go with the Mystic theme for those since its a mystic hull, but I'm yet to do some color inlay and just smooth off the edges a bit (not that they are bad) just some tiny tiny fibers. I have also cut some stuffing tube supports (with the Mystic M logo) but they are a little too big for the very low alignment of the motors, so I have to rework them a bit. Sadly all of this takes a bit of time, specially when you have to redo a few parts. But its definitely coming together nicely.
