Oh man what was I thinking, should just stick to what I know works. Again I don't know what possessed me to do it this way. If it don't work this time it will be a long and tough fix (I'm only saying that because I want it to look good.)

Kent,
I dont know either what (or maybe WHO) possessed you
, always blame someone else
haha
no serious, you should be able to make the modification pretty easy I think?
from the bottom drill out the current pipe, then you should be able to grind away the rest of whats left on the innerside pretty quickly.
(unless youre nice carbon wrapped stuffing tube is in the way?)
@Srislash,
Thanks
@Wayne,
4mm should be sufficient for our electric boats as the speeds we drive are higher then the V-hull and therefore more water will flow.
The 5mm are used as the V-hull will have a twin gas engine in it were every water pickup will be splitted
(2 going to the pipes and 2 to the cylinders)

Hey, there is still the chance that it works the way it is? That way no need to drill, grind or anything like that. In fact if it works the only mod will be the sound of 8s hehe.Visit www.customcfparts.com | Custom Boat Building | Custom Carbon Fiber Parts | Custom Graphics | LMT Premium Dealer | MGM Premium Dealer | YouTube | Facebook

For the hot motors:
Don't forget that this is also quite a fast setup and you ran a lot of partial throttle. The 2250's are quite small in size compared to the size of the boat. If some of your friends have one, try a pair of Octura X450/3 S&B.
Less partial throttle will keep the motors cooler and with higher speeds you'll also get higher cooling flow.

Manuel

Hi Manuel, good to see you here..... please keep in mind that they were only pushed by 6s1p per side, so not 8s as I planned. I do have a set of x450/3 should it be that bad to run the 4818/3 ??? I honestly have to blame the cooling!! I didnt see any water exiting at 30-40km/h so still working on those pickups.Originally posted by ManuelW View PostFor the hot motors:

Nooo dude, I cant do that!!! I have a set, S/B but you never know if you might need them. As your building that awsome boat you may run those props yourself. It's early days... "I lost shaft on the maiden" incl. the prop. would have been nice to have a spare set at that time.Originally posted by Chrisg81983 View PostKent I might have 2 sets of counter rotating 450/3 if so I will just send you the extra set I have they are s&b by Dasboata well at least 1 set i know is done by him don't worry about money

Hehe, I'm no RPM freak, nor would I stand near a motor doing 80K Rpm unless its a turbine :) I don't know why you would push it that hard though. I think a 50 ish prop is a nice size in the low 40k just play with pitch. 8s is the max im going to run on my 2250's that's around 40k - I have cooling issues remember LOL and here you are talking 80k RPM, what's wrong with you LOLOriginally posted by srislash View PostSo you may be able to go to 10s even from what we were discussing on FC.Got no idea the amp draw then though.And what props to use.Your 45's maybe?Visit www.customcfparts.com | Custom Boat Building | Custom Carbon Fiber Parts | Custom Graphics | LMT Premium Dealer | MGM Premium Dealer | YouTube | Facebook

. how many things have to be absolutely perfectly balanced at that rpm? Do they have unobtainium bearings? Who runs 80k rpm? I just want to here that.

I think .... like a car tire expands at speed so will the prop at 80k RPM LOL even if I used a 45mm prop it'll come back 50mm LOL LOLOriginally posted by Prop-a-Gator View Post
